AMD and Nvidia GOP update (No requests, DIY)

I’m sorry if I’m “lazy”. I did read some pages (up to 5) of this thread and couldn’t find a working GOPupd download. The same about attached files.

EDIT: Luckily, I found “GOP_Updater_1.9.7.4.rar” at page 24. I’ll repost it just to make it a bit more visible, plus some tools previously mentioned and posted but added as personal remin.

Can it be submitted to GitHub? I’m learning Git as part of the programming course, so I can help at. I would like to know if someone has ALL the GOPupd/GOP updater versions to somehow recreate history for archival and further development purposes.der

Can the first/second post be updated with the working download links?

I’m a Linux user too (I’ll be the “Stonehead Linux user” in the forum), so making it work under Linux would be very interesting to have. I might try to hack it to make it work, then submit it to the Arch User Repository (I use Archlinux). I’m starting a programming course, so the coding collaboration part might have to wait :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks in advance!

PS: Does anyone have more linux patched nvflash versions?

How is the pascal GOP update going to work?
Won’t the firmware be ‘modded’; cards don’t work with modded vbios.

Guys,

Is there a release change log on what each successive GOP update brings to the table? x30007 vs x3000A?

Thanks

Thanks, lordkag for this post.
Please forgive me my terrible English. I’m from Russia.
I have the graphics card: Sapphire HD 5770 Vapor-X (Juniper 1024 MB GDDR5 Memory) with 128 bit chip. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b194/s…hd-5770-vapor-x
I tested all 3 images and finally flashed my card with Image 3. All images work for me, but I need signed drivers.
Atiflash does not swear on the size of the file, but if I drop it at # AMD_ROM_Info.bat, the error gets out: “GopinfoKs.ehe” program has stopped working. The problem that has occurred has led to the termination of the program, and if there is a known way to fix the problem, you will be notified.
UEFI Boot (CSM disabled) or Fast Boot is working fine. Many thanks for the work done by you!

Something weird happened after updating my Asus Z170-WS Bios from 900 series to 3105 version. Now the system posts from the second Gpu as opposed to the first Gpu as it always had posted from before. I tried updating to the latest GOP update for my 1080 FTW2 cards both but still same result. The first video card does not post any display. Only the second card puts out a picture. Theres even an option in bios to select which pciex16 slot to choose from posting but it would not work. Whats interesting here is that last year when they released the 3002 release the same thing happened though never bothered to check the second GPU. I thought I had a bad flash or that the bios was buggy as once the second gpu was removed I was able to get a picture on my display. Do you guys think this is a gop issue or bios issue?

I’m betting Asus got sloppy.

Thanks

Can someone repost the older GOP Update tools? I want to make a Git repo someday, so changs can be tracked

@lordkag

Any known reason why any batch file within GOP folder just freezes?

if i drag any rom onto rom info or update.bat i just get a blank cmd box with no elevation prompt.

First of all forgive my English is not good, so I use the translation. I have done this GF119 BIOS used in Hackintosh, but the boot time into the system will Huaping, but if you do not have Web Driver will not Huaping, the guide is Clover, who can help me? Or please update. Thank you.

Hello
My video card is the ASUS RX580 T8G
Seems to extract a new version of the GOP file
Please check, thank you

Hello all!
I have MSI N570GTX-M2D12D5 videocard with No UEFI Support.
I wont make it UEFI GOP friendly (for GPU passthrough via OVMF in qemu-kvm).
I grab ROM by nvflash.exe util and trying patch it by GOP_Updater_1.9.7.5.rar (GOPupd.bat) but i have not found case for my GF110 variant.
I see only (2 = GF10x) and (3 = GF119) but no GF110.
Can you help me to patch my ROM file?

Thank you,

Successfully updated with the “GOP_Updater_1.9.7.5” and flashed using the “AtiTool v2.71”, my backup graphic card “ASUS R9-270X DC2T 4G” (Pitcairn/Curacao XT) and my main graphic card “ASUS DUAL RX480 O4G” (Ellesmere) to latest available GOP with the “AtiTool v2.77”, …
Don’t forget to backup your main vBios before in case.

Has anyone flashed and the video card stops outputting video after a few seconds or minutes into Windows? I exported my bios via GPU-Z ran it through this updater and uploaded via ATIFLASH 2.71 via DOS. It worked all night running OCCT PSU test but I came back to wake it from sleep this afternoon and it started going dark on me. I have restored the original non UEFI GOP BIOS but it still does it. Any thoughts?

The card is MSI 7870 GHz Edition OC R7870-2GD5T/OC

I reset the drivers, after seeing messages about the driver restarting in the event logs. So far so good. Haven’t rebooted yet but this may be the issue.

Nope, spoke too soon. Rebooted and it went back to it’s antics.

found a new AMD GOP version

I also added lordkag’s hack to this version. Still does it’s magic, thx @lordkag.
Device id at offset 0x22-0x23 is 67DF (470/480/570/580); has to be changed for use with other cards.
How is the pascal GOP update going to work?
Won't the firmware be 'modded'; cards don't work with modded vbios.
I was thinking exactly the same thing. I was even thinking that I need to empty the watercooling loop, remove the block and flash bios with external programmer (ch341a that I have) and then put them back together, just to see if it works.
But...
Since I’ve done that in my GTX1080, updating the GOP from 30004 to 30008 without any problem and it boots purely fine in uefi mode with csm=off and sb=on, It shouldn’t be of any problem.
No specific procedure need to be performed, just drop the original bios on the bat, get the modded bios, find a nvflash and flash it in.
But of course I can’t guarantee that it will work 100%
I did the same thing. I confirm that it works on a Evga 1080.
Maybe uefi gop is not part of the checksum verification procedure.
What I did was:

1. downloaded latest gpuz(v2.5.0) and I extracted the bios rom from my gpu.

2. downloaded the tool from this thread(v1.9.7.5), I just drag and drop the extracted bios to the bat file of the tool and I got the modded bios.

3. downloaded latest nvflash(v5.416.0). important: not the version with Certificate Checks Bypassed!!!

4. and I flashed the modded bios. didn't have to write any special command parameter. just the exe with the rom name.

I hope it will help others that thinking to do the same thing.

Has anyone found a way to make this GOP recognize with lordkag’s tool?
I have tried to add it to the efi files, but no luck: the tool does NOT recognize it and says, my VBIOS GOP is the latest available.
So my question will be: what do i have to do to make it work with latest tool GOP_Updater_1.9.7.5?

Any help is appriciated. Thanx in advance…

Somewhat similar to recent posts, here is my adapter info (PowerColor Red Dragon Radeon RX 560 4GB - Although should probably be named 560D due to the 896 Stream Processors)

Used GOPupd (version 1.9.7.5 although version showed is 1.9.5) from post #msg43131

In the #GOP_Database I probably have to add something similar to the following?
1
2
3

1.64.0.15.50 - **** - Aug 9 2017 13:23:44 - 1816 - 1445104 - 0xDEADBEEF - Signed - 8269532F

Unsure what else is missing. Hopefully I did provided all of the above:
- a screen of the tool, so I know that it worked as intended and that you run it the way it was meant to be.
- a link to the original VBIOS, so I can have something to work it.
- a hash of the updated file or the updated file, so I can produce an updated file on my PC, manually check it, then compare the CRC.

I guess I could probably use magic from #msg45391 using AMD GOP 1.65.0.15.50 but missing a few pieces to make this all working? Help much appreciated!
