Hello.
I need to make a Geforce 8400GS show bootscreen on an old Mac Pro 1,1 (updated to 2,1 with Mac Os X 10.11.6 El Capitan installed on it), so I learned that it needs to have an Apple EFI32 Gop in its rom, but it seems that there isn’t anywhere a specific efi gop files or roms for this gpu.
Instead, there are either EFI32 and EFI64 complete roms for the Geforce 8800GT 512Mb, that are also compatible with some 8800GTS.
So I extracted the EFI32 Gop from the 8800GT rom, but it came out larger than the original rom file, so I guess it was decompressed, because I wanted to try to “mix” it in the 8400GS (dumped) rom.
And here I’m stuck: how can I use the gopupd tools to try to insert the efi32 gop?
Since the other .efirom files in the #GOP_Files folder are more or less the half in size of the mac_gop.efirom, should I recompress it before using it with gopupd, and how?
Thank you in advance.

Hello?
Can anybody answer and help me please?
Ok, so I managed to get the compressed mac efi32 gop, and I merged it to the original 8400GS rom, but now it’s too large for the eeprom chip: should I change the chip unsoldering the old one and soldering a newer one with more space?
So, since the tool does not support AMD Vega atm, how can I update my AMD GOP from 2.0 to 2.1? The GOP File was provided here, but I have no idea how to adjust the updater accordingly?
Скажите можно в этот биос вшить UEFI и будет ли он работать https://www.dropbox.com/s/lor0vqupohnv7x…it.rom.zip?dl=0
Однозначно нет.
Can anybody with mac efi merging experience help me please?
I know that Mac Efi gops aren’t supported, but I need to merge an efi32 gop into nvidia cards, so while experimenting (to no avail, sadly) I tried to self-upgrade the original efi32 gop efirom (compressed, right?) extracted from a 8800gt rom into the same rom, and I compared the results with Winmerge in hex mode, and I found that the byte 0xe64a (or byte 0x4a in efirom) is changed, other than the final checksum byte obviously: the original 0xe64a byte is 0x13 while the new is 0x93.
Here comes the questions:
- why that byte is changed and how is calculated the new value?
- how is calculated the checksum? Can I use an external tool or some quick trick to recalculate it myself?
Hello
I think this AMD GOP is new, at least could not find it anywhere else.

Hello,
Is this thread been abandoned?
Some reason need to be reported.
Hi,could you upload the current VBIOS with GOP version 2.2.0.0.0.Fe or dump the efirom file? Thanks.

What is the meaning behind this?
Nvidia released a new tool that updates uefi gop to the latest version and incorporates all the fixes.
It will work for dekstop Maxwell and pascal cards. The only one thing that u need is to have unmodified bios in your card.

If it only updates the UEFI part, why does this tool need a unmodified BIOS? Afaik the UEFI has it’s own signature and therefore UEFI updates are possible, even on Pascal. And DisplayPorts should also work without the UEFI…
Now if that tool not just updates the UEFI, that would mean it also updates the signature of the whole BIOS file. And that would introduce some interesting possibilities…
