Not worth a new release, but while waiting for new modules, here is a signed AMD GOP 1.57.0.0.0.

AMD GOP version 1.57.0.0.0 in UBU not signed?

VGA Compatible BIOS

Build Number: 1038 PC 14.34 02/17/2015

Any word on the patch notes for this microcode update? what it for? what does it do? what does it fix? is TSX re-enabled or fixed?

Intel Sandy/Ivy Bridge and Haswell VBIOS differences and modification (14)

Starting with version 1A - TSX disabled.
What’s new in this version is known only to Intel.

@ ex58, @ f3bandit, @SoniX :

Since >this< thread has been designed just for the UBU releases and the UBU guide, I have moved your last posts into this UBU Discussions thread.

@ SoniX:
Hi!

Fernando asked me to repost my question here in the UBU thread so here it is:

I have an ASRock X79 Extreme 4.

When UBU scans the BIOS this is what I see:

Scanning BIOS... Please wait...
Platform BIOS AMI Aptio 4

Found EFI Broadcomm LAN Undi GUID DF4F6190-42B8-4CA9-BA51-7A801B565F08

There are 3 option ROMs and 3 SataDriver/RaidDriver modules, but only the OROMs and the RSTe-EFI-module get updated. The other 2 EFI modules remain untouched.
This is the result of updating the ROMs/modules (Versions before updating: 11.6, 12.7, 3.8):

OROM IRSTe RAID for SATA - 4.1.0.1026
EFI IRSTe RAID for SATA - 4.1.0.1026
EFI IRST RAID for SATA - 12.7.0.1936
EFI IRST RAID for SATA - 11.6.0.1702

I have set my BIOS to RST (not RSTe) and "Ultra Fast" boot mode, so CSM is disabled and only the EFI modules are used. Since they don't get updated, those changes are useless...

Here is a link to the BIOS downloads for this mainboard. I use version 3.70.

Please explain and correct this issue (if possible).

Best regards,
mr_nuub

@SoniX

Do you have 1151 Microcode?

Capture.PNG

The attached file is a Z170 SPI image (100-series), you will probably find some stuff in there like Microcode, vBIOS etc.

Z17EX70.rar (6.25 MB)

There are a few new things. I have tried my best with what we have until now. The only remaining one is the Skylake GOP (part_nr1.efi), which is depending on drvver updating.

Skylake.png

I think that the second EFI Lan is 0.0.05. But I’m not sure if the new GOP/VBIOS is still 5.5.xxxx, probably it will be 6.5.xxxx.

Yes. CPU ID 06Ex Platform 22.

@ SoniX:

Have you seen the post #1433?

@lordkag
I think the GOP Driver SkyLake v9.0.1020. But what then 8.x.xxxx?
New Intel UNDI also not yet understand. We must try to run it in EFI Shell.

You may be right. Haswell was 5.x, CloverView was 6.x, ValleyView is 7.x, maybe another mobile will be 8.xx.

I think that this will be the version, 0.0.05 and it is an early release.

Yes.

Do you use non-standard GUID that comes up with the manufacturer of the motherboard.
I will make you update modules manually.

@mr_nuub
MOD only IRST 13.5/IRST 4.1

mos_X79 Extreme4(3.70)ROM.zip (4.8 MB)

It is quite possible.

I think we must wait until when will more different BIOSes.

Yes, it is better. Altough, I don’t know why a new version just for I211 Lan. Look how similar is 0.0.05 with 6.1.14.

Intel_UNDI.png

Edit: it seems to bring support for I219, so probably this is just a test branch and will be incorporated in a future 6.x.xx release.

Look at the new OROM Intel BOOT Agent CL v.v0.1.04 (8086-15B8 Intel unknown unknown.bin)
Most likely you are right it is a new module EFI Intel UNDI for CL, which means version 0.0.05.

Changed only the name in the output version?

The rest of the modules are similar.

is there OROM and EFI IRST v14.0.0.2198 for X79?

EDIT by Fernando: Moved into the UBU discussion thread

Although I do not really recommend to insert the Intel RAID ROM/EFI RaidDriver v14.0.0.2198 into the BIOS of an Intel 6-Series chipset system like the X79 one, they probably can be used (precondition: the Intel RAID Controller has been set to RST mode).
You can find the Option ROM v14.0.0.2198 within the UBU\Modules\IRST folder and within the start post of >this< thread.
If you are interested in the related EFI RaidDriver for the GUID 43A0A7B3, please let me know it.

@ SoniX:

The download from RGhost doesn’t work.
By the way: It would be a good idea to rename the tool package to UBU_1.16.rar.
