[ARCHIVE] Outdated UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions

Thank you SoniX for your work.

I download your tool since several hours and rghost.net work like a charm as always. Tested now and still working.

@Fernando , it seems that you experienced a local problem with rghost.net

Ghostearth.

I still cannot get it downloaded the direct way (without using a third party download software).
Can you please attach the rar file?

Well, clicking the Download button works, but clicking the link UBU_v116.rar does not, due to an incomplete URL…

Yes, here is the "Download" button, which doesn’t work for me:

The link "UBU_116.rar" doesn’t work as well.

Sure
Untick the download manager

@ Ghostearth:
Thanks for having uploaded the new UBU version for me.

@ all:
Now the download link to the new UBU v1.16 is available as well within my OneDrive folder named “Bios Tools”, which I have linked within the start post of >this< thread…

I think my comment may’ve been deleted…

I wanted to find out if there was Intel RAID EFI ROM v14.0.0.2198 for x79… I see that it’s not included in 1.15 or 1.16… So does it exist? or can it be added? Thanks.

No, it has been moved into this "UBU Discussions/Questions" thread (look >here<) and already been answered by me.
The other UBU thread should only contain the guide and the releases of new UBU versions by the developer. I had split the old UBU thread because of the big volume, which enlarged the access time and made it difficult to find the new UBU versions and their Changelog details.

The Intel RAID ROM v14.0.0.2198, which is within the latest UBU tool, can be used with X79 systems, whose Intel RAID Controller is running in "RST" mode.
An Intel EFI RaidDriver v14.0.0.2198 for X79 systems may need another GUID header.

For download, if not work RGhost, use mirror on SendSpace
https://www.sendspace.com/folder/kp4qkx

For X79+IRST 14.0.0.2198 - I’ll add later. I need to decide what to remove the previous version of IRST 12.9, 13.1 or 13.5?

Ok. Starting with version 1.17 will do so, as "UBU_v1_17.rar". :slight_smile:

Please do not remove any of these 3 IRST BIOS module versions (v12.9 are good for 5-6 Series, 13.1 for 7-Series and 13.5 for 8-9 Series Chipsets).
On the other hand the addition of a special EFI RaidDriver v14.0.0.2198 wouldn’t make much sense for me, because the v14 development tree is not designed at all for 6-Series Chipsets like the X79 one.

Ok. Starting with version 1.17 will do so, as "UBU_v1_17.rar". :slight_smile:

Thanks!

I apologize for my previous posts not being in the correct thread! Thanks for correcting it for me. :slight_smile:

Yes, I am interested in EFI RAID ROM 14.0.0.2198 for X79… Pretty please with a cherry on top! Even if it’s not included in UBU… I would still like to have the .ffs file and I can mod my own bios with it. Thank you!

Here is it (without a cherry):

EDIT: Since I am not sure, whether the previously attached file worked for X79 systems, I have reuploaded a definitively working FFS file on 04/15/2015.

Intel-RST_EFI-RaidDriver_GUID-43A0A7B3.rar (76.9 KB)

@bolts4brekfast
Please info the motherboard model and a link to the BIOS.

@Fernando
I was not going to remove the basic version of IRST, only the section that updates IRSTe for X79. See the picture.

Edit:
@bolts4brekfast
Info and the BIOS is no longer necessary.
@Fernando
In general remade the update process for X79 with GUID 43A0A7B3-.

All realized in UBU 1.17.

Good luck! :slight_smile:

where? It’s not in either download section?

Sorry. Already corrected.

PS If not working RGHost - mirror SendSpace

WOW! Thank you so much! :slight_smile:

X79 EFI RAID ROM 14.0.0.2198 Working just fine here for Rampage IV Extreme (Windows 8.1 Pro x64)

Thanks to SoniX and Fernando

Thanks for your feedback.
Questions:

  • What do you mean with "EFI RAID ROM"? ROM and EFI modules are quite different and only one of them can be used by the on-board Intel SATA RAID Controller (the RAID ROM for systems running in LEGACY mode, the EFI RaidDriver for Operating Systems running in UEFI mode).
  • Which Intel RAID driver was running in combination with the v14.0.0.2198 RAID module?
  • What means "working just fine"? Did you compare the performance and stability with earlier Intel RAID ROM/EFI module versions and the related Intel RST(e) driver? Which combo gave your X79 RAID0 system the best results?

  • Thanks in advance!

    @SoniX

    Here is AMD GOP 1.58.0.0.0 from Asrock. It is unsigned and they removed some IDs, but nothing to affect the usual KV/TN/KB/ML found in mainboards. The signed one will appear sooner or later.

    AMD GOP 1.58.0.0.0.rar (48.3 KB)

    How we able to find bios file?

    EDIT by Fernando: This post has been moved into the suitable UBU Discussions thread.
