BIOS modification requested for DH61WW with LGA 1155 socket

I have a DH61WW_ motherboard that comes with traditional BIOS but also has some UEFI capability (I think as I saw in BIOS). I want to install Nvme SSD as a boot device. It has an empty PCI-e x16 slot (ver 3.0) and I have the adapter. Can you help me with the BIOS mod so I can install it with full Nvme support for booting?

You can do this, but you’ll need a hardware programmer to read, modify, and then reflash your board.

Intel mainboard .bio update files are special and to the best of my knowledge cannot be modified and then successfully flashed to the board with software.

@otraver .BIO files are a special format and contain extra stuff, it is not simply the contents of the chips. For example, on a DX58SO, the .BIO file is ~3.6MB, even though the flash chip is only 2MB. It also doesn’t have the board’s unique information.

Since you already have a flasher, you should start by reading the contents of both of the chips. You must preserve the unique data on the chip, such as board ID, serial number, MAC address, etc. Once you have the backup dumps of both chips, maybe someone can help you fix them.
