+1
I was using the board just fine. but it has a bug that would not boot some live Linux distros and a wanted to use a different processor a Xeon X3470 and other similar features. so I figured, a bios update would help.
so I said you guys can help in any way. you said you have a dump or a working file from a TC board. i have nothing else to lose
by the way I saw your âlovelyâ conversation over the intel forums. they did not help you over there, glad you was able to solve your problem here, thanks to the help you were provided. cheers.
Whatâs your problem? You have a firmware- dump from your own board which was to my understanding in a working state when you made it. You need a flasher anyway- why donât you use it?
Yeah, some people are interesting to say the least. In any case, try the dump that is provided here and if it works great. If it does not, then you will still be on the same page.
I already tried to flash it with the dump I made before updating from version 37 to version 48. it didnât work . maybe it is corrupted or something. I flash the bios posted here by you but same result , no post . turns on and reboot in a loopâŚ
If both donât work itâs either not flashed properly (read the content of the chip in a separate process and compare this new dump to the file intended to flash- they should be 100 % identical) or not firmware related.
I agree. Perhaps another possibility is the board going bad but, if it starts and stops in a continuous loop, then the issue is probably BIOS related. Make sure youâre using the flasher correctly, you need to have a solid connection with the BIOS chip in order for it to work. Also the common software used for flashing is not straight forward and takes some getting used to.
