GA 990fxa ud3 rev 4.0 boot from PCIe

Hello, I am writing to you because I need your help … I tried to follow the guide to get full NVMe support but it is very difficult for me.

I have a Crucial m.2 SSD connected via PCIe to my GA-990FXA-UD3 (rev. 4.0) board and I want to start windows from there. I cloned my HDD disk to SSD. My BIOS boot from UEFI but is not available from PCIe. the link to the manufacturer’s page

I found that you guys can make this improvement. I am a newbie it was impossible for me to understand how to do it.

I would greatly appreciate your help and can cooperate with your work.

Thanks

So easy mod to be done…try urself a bit more.
Use the MMtool option for inserting the NVMe module presented in the guide.

[HowTo] Get full NVMe support for all Systems with an AMI UEFI BIOS

[Guide] How to flash a modded AMI UEFI BIOS

Present ur final work, someone can check later if the mod OK and help.

Before any flash with mod files, the system should already be with the same version of the bios file that will be mod.
As usually, not the mod itself but the flash operation of the mod, envolves some risks that only u decide it, whenever possible a software backup of the entire SPI bios is advisable, preferably if possible a backup with a CHA programmer is the best and most reliable.

I followed the instruction and created this custom rom to boot NVMe ssd form PCIe. Please help to check this mod rom as it is not stable (PC unable to boot).

Thank you.

==========

The mod seems correctly done, inserted in the right volume and no missing/added pad files.
It should be flashed in M-Flash utility and further guidance and tests are in the guide.

Then it may be other issues, I will further test and monitor. Thank you.
