Is there a file named amd_sata.sys or amd_sata.sy_ within the i386 folder of your XP Image?
amd_sata.sys, what this error meaning? can u dm me pls, limit
The XP Setup needs the required textmode driver (here: amd_sata.sys) to be able to get access to the target drive. This driver has to be present within the i386 folder of the XP Image.
If the Setup cannot find this driver there, the user gets the message, that the related file could not be found.
can u repair this? pls
I was trying to help you, but I cannot solve a problem, which is caused by a certain Windows Customizing tool or by the user himself.
Tip:
If the BIOS of your system gives you the option to set the AMD SATA Controller to “IDE” mode (neither AHCI nor RAID), you may be able to get the original (untouched) XP SP3 Image installed. After having completed the XP installation you can switch the SATA mode to “AHCI” (after having forced the installation of the appropriate, but at this moment not yet matching AMD AHCI driver).
hmm, maybe i can install AMD AHCI driver v1.2.1.321 on win11 then install it on winxp, then error will be gone, or no?
That would not work. You have to do a fresh XP installation and this requires an XP compatible “pure” AMD AHCI driver (unless you install XP in “IDE” mode).
uhhh how to fix windows 2000 is missing AMD_SATA.SY not found
also the vega 3 fixed so thanks

This Guide is only valid for the integration of AMD textmode drivers into a Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 Image.
Regarding the support of Windows 2000 you can find this note within the start post of this thread:
Good luck!
does this works i tried and still missing amd_sata.sy_ last time corrupted
it dont work also i tried windows xp 32bit and didnt work i used nlite whats wrong
@Userfriendly123
The “missing xyz.sy_” message while trying to integrate a textmode driver is caused by the tool nLite.
Only Nuhi (the manufacturer of the tool) can solve this problem.
My tip: Try another tool like the XP-Isobuilder or the WUCDCreator.
i did that but didnt work also i used this image
uhhh from archive is it legit ? also is msdn
What means „didn‘t work“? What have you done and what happened?
i did use nlite the windows xp setup is in hard drive i mean is really in hard drive i didnt used usb because lack support for usb 2.0 and usb 3.1 also it just say amd_sata.sys could be not found
@Userfriendly123
I gave you already the advice to try the textmode driver integration by using another tool.
By the way - the *.SYS or *.SY_ file of the textmode driverpack has to be within the I386 folder of the Image.
ok thanks il try it
Update: is still dosent work ? i used nlite and the tool you give didnt work
@Userfriendly123
I tried to help you, but now I give up.
