Yes. QDE4 is engineering version of 4770K.
I don’t know which microcodes we must add to be fully functional with K OC options (like on the screen). Maybe it have to be identified as 4770K? I don’t know. I have never changed that things.
http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/QD/QDE4.html
Probably ES code, unless there was never ES code used for those during testing period and retail code always used. I can force the setting for you if you want to try that, I mean it will be there but you enabling or disabling may depend on certain ME or microcode.
QDE4 not listed as ES for 4770K (QE6S / QEH6) - http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i7/In…20i7-4770K.html
Where do you see it used and overclocked as a K CPU?
Here https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a23…ucket=14#detail
And all listed here https://s.taobao.com/search?q=4770+es&ty…utton&catId=100
you can translate it from google chrome automaticcly
There is no 4770K in that first link listing, only 4770S or 4770T shown in that listing image (#1-2 is 4770S/4700T). No QDE4 = 4770K in the search there either
Show me CPU-z of your CPU, main tab. I think maybe you purchased wrong # item there, or they sent you wrong one possibly?
https://gd2.alicdn.com/imgextra/i1/13322…png_400x400.jpg
NR5 is ES 4770/4790K 2.8Ghz QDE4
After translation:
Package 5: I7 4790K 2.8G Unlocked multiplier can be overclocked
4770K and 4790K have one ES
When i get back my CPU i will try to run CPU-Z (because motherboard don’t identify it does not always start)
4770K and 4790K will not be same S-Spec, that seller is trying to trick/take advantage of buyers probably. I looked around in google, I see this is very confusing and not usual for these ES in 47xx series due to C0/B0 stepping and more varying ES than usual.
So maybe it is 4770K after-all, at least like 4770K
I know CPU-z doesn’t identify correctly, I only want to see how it looks in CPUz-z. Do you want me to go ahead and force K-OC to always be visible for you in BIOS, no matter what CPU is installed (Even Celeron/Pentium it will still be there)
As far as it being unlocked fully, that’s going to come down to certain Intel ME version, and certain microcode version. See if you can find either of those mentioned in posts on forums about this QDE4 and look on many of the for sale listings too, some might say which versions.
You could also ask the seller you purchased from, he should know what microcode and ME version work best for these CPU’s
Ok. You can enable this K OC without B85 board?
Yes, I can enable settings without the board, but I do think I have one of these boards somewhere here. I mentioned having a board to check for you about how to backflash ME version, for that I will need to check for you unless you have a flash programmer (Hardware, like CH341A).
Settings I can do without having to get the board out at all, here is BIOS with K-OC and non-K OC always visible (Along with several other settings I enable for you too HT, ProcHOT, realtime CPU control in OS, CPU PLL selection).
Flash with Qflash or EFIFlash in DOS, please do not use @BIOS.
https://www.sendspace.com/file/7ajl7k
ME is already 9.0.30.1482, so you don’t have to worry about backflash to older version, but if you want to update to 9.1 version we can do that via FW Update tool or BIOS mod
Either way should be OK, I was concerned before if you had to flash backwards to older but you’re already using older ME.
Once you get info from research or asking sellers which microcode is best to use I can insert that or you too. But I think from this threads research already, version 19 was the good one to use, and it’s in this BIOS already (And v 12 too).
Check with HWinfo or AIDA64 and see what CPU microcode gets loaded in windows, if 12 we can remove so 19 gets used instead (if above that, then win10 or OS update is overriding and you’ll need to lookup how to stop that) ES 306C1/306C2 are also already there
Ok, thanks. I will send a post when CPU arrives
@Lost_N_BIOS
Hi. I have this CPU now.
CPUID is 000306C2 and Family 6 Model 60 Stepping 2
Revision FFFF0006
I cant overclock it multipliers.

Did you update to BIOS in post #28 above yet? If not, do that now, and then disable Non-K OC and see if that helps, also try with and without K-OC enabled too.
Make sure in windows, Microcode FFFF0006 is being used or not (Check with AIDA64 or HWINFO64)
Please message seller also, and ask him if there is a better microcode version than FFFF0006 to use, and if yes ask what version he suggests. Same for Intel ME version, which does he think is best to use.
Be sure to say first, CPU is working for you OK, that way he doesn’t think you purchased without reading his warning
I cannot find different microcode version than that one, so it could be the only one there is?
CPU-Z
https://www.sendspace.com/file/m8dsbo
Seller tells me that i need Z87 only but dont know wich model
You don’t “Need” Z87, Z97 works too, but yes sometimes Z87 might be better due to BIOS options. Ask him directly, which Intel ME and CPU microcode revision works best for the CPU
Or, you can also ask him, please upload for you the Z87 BIOS he likes best, that will give us ME version and Microcodes he thinks are best too. He/they all know exactly about ME and microcode, they mention it in their listings, so they can’t act like they don’t know about “BIOS internals” you know
What is CPU-z text for?
Where i can find it?

HWInfo it shows here
AIDA64 it shows here
Looks like you info is from AIDA64 correct? And I see microcode 6h, which could be correct and it’s just abbreviating the FFFF0006, see what HWInfo64 shows
Yeah. That was AIDA info.
HWInfo shows this:
FFFF0006
and Ratio Overclocking Not Supported
Did you try the BIOS in post #28, using suggestions from post #31. If yes, you may need different board, one they mention in their sales pages for those CPU’s
Im worried about it can fail this update and i will see black screen…
Practiccly my board have DualBios but don’t know how to run it
@korzychxp -That BIOS is fine as long as you flash safely. I modify these BIOS all the time, nothing to worry about there. DO NOT flash with @BIOS, only from DOS or Qflash.
Plus, that wasn’t really mod BIOS anyway, only changed few setting states to be visible for you, nothing really modified in there just settings changed so they are enabled for view/setting - so no worries
Ok i updated it and nothing has changed.
