How to flash upgraded Intel I225-V Firmware?

How to downgrade the firmware to the original version?

My current version is 1.89.

I would not advice to update to the modified firmware/EEPROM v1.94 for the i225-V 15F3 model.

Every time the system freezes after approx. 10 minutes watching YouTube streams in the Chromium browsers Edge or Chrome when the Graphic Acceleration was switch on in the browser system setting. Switching this off did resolve the problem, but the video stream was not as optimal. So, when I did go back to firmware v1.89 for the i225-V 15F3 model the problem was completely resolved and I could watch the YouTube video streams without any freezing in the Chromium browsers with Graphic Acceleration switch On in browsers settings.

Yes…seems incoherent the reports of users around the web about FW’s on this PHY’s, some have experienced issues with 1.89 some with 1.94.
From my side Rev.2, using the 1.94 since last July…no issues at all and didn’t have to set any of the Intel recommendations

How can i downgrade my nvm from 1.89 im having disconnect issues with win11

Did you find a fix

…a bit painful, not easy for users with no experience, not user-friendly interface and could go wrong, did you follow Intel advices, power management off, latest driver.

Station-Drivers - Intel I225-V/I225-LM Rev 1.x LAN Controllers Firmware Version 1.89

EDIT: Latest driver i’m using is the 2.1.5.4 dated 02 Apr 2025

Did the guide awhile ago to update to 1.89 same one you linked but when i updated to it windows built-in driver fails to load it, im on driver v2.1.5.3 right now but i still get random disconnects, also takes like 30s to connect at boot and event viewer spammed with event 27

Any ideas what i could do ive tried downgrading my nvm but it wouldn’t let me

There’s 2 tools, NVMupdate and EEupdate, users have reported success with one or another.
Nothing more to add to this subject, good luck.
