@plutomaniac

Does this look ok?

Please take a look. Please.

Thank you

Is ME Config Status: Not committed a concern? I flashed the EXTR Region without manually configuring it because I certainly can not read past a certain hour. Please advise what to do? Should I just wait till a newer version of bios comes out and just reflash the whole spi image over clean? What do you recommend i do?

Thank you Plutomaniac..

Yes, but you ran it on my modded firmware. I think if it’s been modded it says it’s Extracted in ME Analyzer.

Kedarwolf,

What should I do?

Thanks

You can make a RGN firmware version, run that, it’ll use that version.

And thanks for your help, good catch I never had Z390 selected in the Fit tool. :slight_smile:

Guys, read the first post carefully. You can use whatever you want with FWUpdate tool (RGN,EXTR,UPD). Only outside of FWUpdate tool do you need to care about settings.

@tadekm

Thank you for the log. Your previous one was very helpful and I thus no longer require more. It looks just fine.

@davidm71

The logs show everything as being ok.

@plutomaniac ,

Thank you for taking a look at my verbose details. Only one thing though.

When I try Fwupdlcl64 -save dump.bin it errors out saying the firmware is in recovery mode.

I swear I was able to run that command last week with out issue.

Is that a concern? FPTW64 -d dump.bin works in anycase.

Thank you

Happy Holidays

The logs look just fine. UPD images have been useless for 7 years now (since ME 8) so whether -save works or not is irrelevant. The system is ok, nothing more to do.

In case you missed it, Plutomaniac mentioned that with the Firmware Update Tool, XTRA firmwares are fine to flash. I was wrong.

EDIT: Nevermind…, my bad…
Intel MEI Driver 1839.12.0.1165 are still the same 1828.12.0.1152 (the latest INF) when I extract them with UniExtractor, so why are they listed under “Drivers Only” section? Wouldn’t the INF files have to confirm 1839.12.0.1165 to be there?

If you have a CSME 12.0 Corporate PCH-H or Corporate PCH-LP system, please let me know.

Notice about CSME 12 FWUpdate Tool: Added instruction for Integrated Sensor Hub (ISH) setting

Hello to everyone!

I want to know, which version of Intel Management Engine Interface is suited best for my system, if I’m going to make a clean installation of last edition of Windows 10.

I read carefully first post in this topic and many other information on this and other sites (including intel.com). But I’m not a very advanced user of PC, and maybe because of that I didn’t understand once and for all every aspects and nuances of this and other relevant software (Intel Chipset Device Software, Intel AHCI/RAID drivers and Intel Rapid Storage Technology).

Hardware:

- Chipset: Z97
- Mainboard: Asus Z97-K (version of BIOS: 2902)
- CPU: Intel i7-4790K
- HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA100
- Videocard: Nvidia GeForce

I have these variants for Management Engine Interface:

01) Asus download center: 11.0.0.1146

02) Intel download center: 11.7.0.1068 (but it tells that version “1824.12.0.1140” is newer)

03) This site: 11.7.0.1069

Initially I was thinking that for Z97 chipset most suitable version is “11.7.0.1068”. But the first post in this topic recommends version “11.7.0.1069” for all 8-series and 9-series chipsets.

So now I am a little confused (again), which version I need and (more importantly) which version is actually best. This site tells, that it’s a “11.7.0.1069”, Intel offers two variants (“11.7.0.1068” and “1824.12.0.1140”), but for both of them in description I didn’t see my chipset and CPU. Also Intel tells that for this kind of software version of a vendor is more suitable, which means that version “11.7.0.1068” of Asus is better.

I will appreciate any kind of help.

Thanks!

Kirill

Hey! Use the CSME tools package (v11) from the first post (MEInfo.exe, MEManuf.exe -verbose) via the command prompt with administrator rights, and post the result here. It will be the quickest and most foolproof way to determine what package suits your system best.

Hi!
Some time ago I downloaded Intel ME Tools for “Intel(R) Sunrise Point Chipset”.
This file included the linux version of FPT.
Unfortunately I can’t find it.
Does anybody have it?
All archives I downloaded have only dos/win/efi versions.
Regards,
Zibri

@Wickez , hello!

Thanks for reply.

I downloaded all Intel ME System Tools from the first page of this topic (from “v9.1 r7” and to “v12 r12”). I tried both MEInfo and MEManuf from every package, but these utilities from package “v9.5 r6” and up create an “error” text file, when I try to launch them. Utilities in first package are running successfully, but all that I get is a black screen of running utility, which is disappearing immediately.

But from tools SA-00086 and SA-00125 of Intel I’ve got this one: 9.1.25.1005

I don’t know if this is what you need. If not then I need help with the launch of MEInfo and MEManuf.

@Zibri , hi!

I see a Linux version of Flash Programming Tool in package "Intel CSME System Tools v12 r12" in the first post of topic.

Is this what you need?

@Kirill

Okay. That would be enough of info. Your ME isn’t =<8, but v9 exactly, so grab Intel MEI Driver v11.7.0.1069 found under A1 (or "Consumer systems" version if you are going to use MEI & Software version found at A3) from the first post and you’re good to go. Cheerio.

@Wickez , thanks for the answer!

Two more questions:

1) If version “11.7.0.1068” of Intel’s download center (which, I think, pretty much the same as “11.7.0.1069” in this topic) is the best for my system, then why on it’s downloading page Intel tells that version “1824.12.0.1140” is newer (and, in other words, better)?

2) What are the differences between Consumer/1.5MB and Corporate/5MB versions of drivers? I understand that I need a Consumer version, but still I wonder what’s the difference. And these 1.5MB and 5MB… I have searched information about that, but found nothing.

cant flash this file
Intel CSME 12.0 Consumer PCH-H B,A Firmware v12.0.20.1307

give me this
Error 434: PMC partition is not in the Update Image.

is it fixable or something i dk

Yes @Margus - read all page one warnings and info, especially regarding V12 FW

"Notice about CSME 12 FWUpdate Tool: Starting from CSME 12, Intel FWUpdate tool does not work with bare RGN or EXTR CSE firmware as it requires that they are first combined/stitched with the equivalent Power Management Controller (PMC) firmware, which is updated alongside the main CSE firmware. The CSME v12 archives below always include bare RGN or EXTR CSE firmware images so you must always stitch the equivalent PMC firmware first, via Flash Image Tool (FIT), before using Intel FWUpdate tool. To check if a CSE RGN/EXTR firmware region is already FWUpdate compatible, input it at ME Analyzer tool and make sure that “FWUpdate Support” is reported as “Yes”. To generate the correct FWUpdate compatible CSME + PMC firmware combination for your system via FIT, you must first know your system’s Chipset Platform (H, LP), Chipset Type (Consumer, Corporate, Slim) and Chipset Stepping/Revision (A, B, C etc)."

Read the rest in OP and be sure to choose the right platform in the FIT tool. I had to choose Z390 for my board. :slight_smile:

Edit: If you have any issues, PM me, I’ll help.
