Today I am updating my old MSI Z97 MPower Max AC .Used the UBU tool and updated the bios also with a newer microcode.Now with ME firmware.It shows in the bios it has ver 9.1.37.1002.Is there a newer higher me ver that this can be upgraded to?Also I have ME driver for windows 10 v11.7.0.1057 installed it shows in device manager.Should I stick with this one or install v1914.12.0.1256.I will get this old girl rocking again.Sheās at 5.0 for a OC now and running good.Just got to tune ole bessy up!
@NIK1 - see post #4578-#4579 above, you are using the latest ME FW possible for your setup. As for drivers, you will have to read over all the info at post one and decide, I donāt know about drivers.
MSI X299 SLI Plus Bios v1F contains Intel ME v11.12.0.1622, dated 18.07.2019 and thus much newer than the previous 11.12.0.1558 release.

Hello
For the Asus X299, it is better to use the firmware of the first page (11.11.70.1622) or the last v11.12.0.162 (the 2 are of the same date) ?
Thanks
The OP includes v11.12 for X299 (CON H), not v11.11. The v11.12 branch succeeds v11.11, probably adding Cascade Lake support. Firmware 11.11.70.1622 and 11.12.0.1622 are the same except for some small ICC module difference.
Dear @plutomaniac Iāve just updated. Could you please take a look at MEManuf log and see if itās ok?
Before update Phase=ROM/Preboot after update Phase=HOSTCOMM Module
Is it something important?
Thank you
No youāre fine.

@plutomaniac
I have to optimize settings for this recent ASUS VivoBook portable:
This PC is manufactured with MEI Firmware v11.8.55.3510
1) Do I have to update it ? If yes, with what version and with what tools ?
2) I have installed MEI driver v1914.12.0.1256, do you think it is OK for this machine ?
Intel CSME 11.8 Corporate PCH-H D,A Firmware v11.8.71.3630
Is the above image not for z170?
i got this error doing fwupdlcl64 -f āimage file nameā.bin
Error 8746: Firmware update not initiated due to invalid image length
Edit:
got it thatās corporate not consumer f/w!
@100PIER - In regards to your PM. Iām not the best at ME, but here is my answers/thoughts about your questions
1. No, you do not āHave toā Update ME FW, unless you want to. If you want to, see page one of this thread, it answers rest of your questions there. Be sure to read all the info, warnings etc before doing anything, specifically be sure to read all the warnings for V11 and read the Engine Firmware updating section.
2. Yes, that is fine
@Lost_N_BIOS
Many thanks for your reply.
Yes, I had read carefully Page one of this tread, and I did not seen anywhere a reference to MEI Firmware v11.8.55.3510.
So, I do ignore if a newer version does replace it now or not, and if yes which one should be the āsuccessorā.
So, at that time I donāt update MEI firmware of this laptop.
Thanks again to your time to reply.
