I’m trying to do a clean BIOS for a NUC that doesnt boot so I try do copy ME Region to new bios.
I’ve dumped original BIOS (v0058) and downloaded last bios.bin (v0065), but the last bios use CSME 14.1.74.2355 and I cannot find it in repository.
My dump use v14.1.65.1969, it’s present in repository.
It’s my first time trying this, so I’m don’t know what to do next. Any help is welcome.
That’s meaningless, there’s no machine specific information in ME region which isn’t added under initialization.
In case of fTPM this might bring additional trouble.
For most NUC machine specific data are in GbE and NVRAM entries, not checked for NUC10 though.
Post a link to / attach your firmware dump if I you want me to have a look.
Saw that you tried stock Asus firmware already, and it didn’t work. A stock firmware should work (if properly flashed). If not it’s not firmware related.
I’ve read that recent uefi intel bios cannot be flashed without cleaning it, but maybe it’s onyl for laptop ?
I’ve flashed asus bios with ch341a. The nuc is acting weirdly, sometimes it stays on steady blue light, sometimes it keep rebooting after 4s. MAybe it’s hardware issue.
Don’t reflash a foreign initialized ME region to another PC. Stock firmware has a ME in configured state which get’s initialized on first boot. Those ME regions can be used for every PC with the same hardware configuration.
For the same machine you don’t need to clean the ME region if it isn’t corrupted for a reflash.
