Intel RST/RSTe Drivers (latest: v20.0.0.1038/ v8.5.0.1592)

I wish Intel published release notes for each version. Now that I have SATA3 capable SSD, I do care about the driver I have installed

Intel usually publishes Release Notes for all Intel RST(e) drivers, which are officially presented at their Download Center.
The Intel RST(e) drivers v12.8.2.1000 have been developed by Intel and got the WHQL stamp from Microsoft, but haven’t yet been officially presented by Intel.

Just installed 12.8.2.1000:
- trim om my Z87 works also (both raid-0 and non-member ssd)
- as ssd performance equal to previous driver

cheers,
Jerome

Just installed v12.8.2.1000 WHQL on Windows 8.1 RTM and a Z77 motherboard.

I am getting inconsistent results on 4K writes with AS SSD Benchmark.

I have optimized my RAID0 array, disabled/enabled Intel write-cache buffer flushing (write-back) and rebooted but the 4K writes are about a quarter of what they were with v12.8.0.1016 WHQL.

I am using 4 x Intel X25-m 80GB drives.

I still have the shutdown issuse with the new rst software

12.6.3. 1000

Works with no problem

@ MrBeer:
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

Since obviously only a few users of the actual Intel RST(e) drivers have the shutdown problem, I doubt, that this issue is really caused by these drivers.
Please check the Intel Management Engine Interface details and the BIOS settings of your system.

Regards
Fernando

I have the problem intermittently too, and I know my MEI etc. are OK! There are less faulty yes, but the last 12.8 had the problem too.
But the latest 12.7 are problem free!

Here everyone can see the variety of the shutdown problem:

  1. For the big majority of the users (inclusive myself) the actual Intel RST(e) drivers v12.8.x.x.xxxx are running fine without any shutdown problems.
  2. MrBeer found out, that the Intel RST(e) drivers v12.6.x.xxxx drivers are the last ones, which didn’t show the shutdown issue.
  3. For MDM the v12.7 .x.xxxx drivers work without the shutdown problem, whereas the v12.8 ones do have this "bug".

no shutdown problem with esata with windows installed.
i think the problem is with the sdd AND MY SYSTEM.

The drivers by itself works with no problem it seems the be the software that is casuing all my problems.

Just another update . So i install the software 12.8.2.1000 but uninstall nod32 Antivirus and it seem to work now.

OK, seems that the 12.8.2.1000 are bug free too as is the 12.7.2.1000!

At Station-Drivers I found new Intel RST(e) drivers dated 08/19/2013. A complete Intel RST(e) Drivers & Software Set v12.7.4.1000 in not (yet) available.
You can find the new Intel AHCI/RAID drivers within the start post of this thread.

Update of the start post

Changelog:

  • new: 32/64bit Intel RST(e) drivers v12.7.4.1000 WHQL dated 08/19/2013

Enjoy the new Intel AHCI and RAID drivers!

I am running the 12.8.2.1000 drivers on my fresh install of Win7 Ultimate on a Z68 board and have NOT
had one problem at all. I am running my 2600K CPU @ 4.0 ghz on Air cooling and the beastie NEVER misses a beat.

Maybe I am lucky or, the Z68 chipset isn’t affected?

Affected by what?
Do you mean the shutdown issue some users reported about?

Today (10/02/2013) Pacman has published at station-drivers.com (look >here<) a new Intel RSTe drivers and software package v3.8.0.1111 WHQL for Intel X79 Chipset users.

Meanwhile I have downloaded, renamed and reuploaded the different parts (32/64bit drivers and the complete package) and offer them within this thread.

Update of the Start Post:

Changelog:

  • new: 32/64bit Intel RSTe drivers v3.8.0.1108 WHQL (dated 09/26/2013, usable only with Intel C600/C220 Series Chipsets, suitable from Windows XP to Windows 8)
  • new: Intel RSTe Drivers & Software Set v3.8.0.1111 WHQL (dated 10/02/2013, usable only with Intel C600/C220 Series Chipsets, suitable with all Windows Operating Systems from XP up)

Have fun with the new Intel RSTe drivers!
Fernando

Anyone know if the v3.8.0.1111 WHQL for Intel X79 Chipset drivers support trim for SSD’s in Raid0? I have two Raid0 arrays using SSD’s and so far only driver version 11.2 correctly identifies both raid0 arrays as made up of SSD’s and supports trim.

According to Intel the RSTe drivers since v3.7.0.1093 do support TRIM in RAID0, RAID1 and RAID10 (look >here<).
Our member blogthis has already confirmed, that TRIM is active within his X79 RAID0 system running the Intel RSTe drivers v3.8.0.1108 (look >here<).

Thanks for the link to the new Intel RST(e) drivers.

I just installed them on my Intel Z77 RAID0 system running Win8 8.1 x64 RTM and everything seems to run fine.

Have fun with the new Intel RSTe drivers!

Updated to these and still getting very poor 4KB writes (about a quarter of what they were with v12.8.0.1016 WHQL).

Same stripe size and OS installation.

And what about the Energy Options and Write-Back Caching settings?
