Intel RST/RSTe Drivers (latest: v20.1.0.1015/ v9.0.0.1836)

@monta990 :
I have seen the new driver at Station-Drivers, but cannot download it (unsecure connection).
Can you download and attach the package?

EDIT: Not needed anymore. I just got the package from high1 (big thanks to him!).

Yes, do use http instead of https for the moment until the certificat will be available.

Hello, sorry for the basic question, love this site/thread and the dedication, first time posting tho:

Where do I download and how do I install "Best matching Intel RAID ROM/EFI BIOS modules: v13.1.0.2126" to go with the "64bit Intel RST(e) AHCI/RAID Drivers v13.1.0.1058 WHQL" driver I just downloaded, and should I install the module before the driver, and would it be best practice to do this on a fresh install?

@ShadowX :
Welcome to the WinRAID Forum!

You can find the Intel most important RAID ROM modules >here< and the Intel RAID EFI BIOS modules >here<.

You cannot “install” them, you have to modify the BIOS by using an appropriate BIOS modding tool (e.g. the UBU tool) and then to flash the modded BIOS into the chip of your mainboard.

It depends on the currently running Intel RAID driver version (the platform of the BIOS module should not be higher than the platform of the related driver).
This is the normal order, if you want to create a RAID array:
1. flashing the BIOS containing the appropriate RAID module
2. creation of the RAID array
3. installation of the matching Intel RAID driver.
A fresh OS installation is not required, but always a good option to get off all the garbage your system has stored.

Thank you for your speedy reply!

I’ve previously used UBU and have the updated MMTool.exe, running the software now I see the “13.1.0.2126” RAID ROM, is it correct to state that I don’t need to use the downloaded file, and can simply flash the new settings I’ve selected?

Here’s a read out of the BIOS I just made: https://i.imgur.com/nfY8HV0.png

…and here is what is currently installed: https://i.imgur.com/nXa69Pj.png

Yes, but this has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

Latest version for my system (intel 8 series / intel c220 series), is 14.8.16.1063 right?
But now i found a driver version 14.10.xxx what is higher, but after install the date is 2016 way older.
So, what is newest version now, thats a bit confusing :stuck_out_tongue:

@Ricks :
The version number does not always indicate the date of a driver, which can be read by opening the associated INF files.
If you want to know the latest drivers from within the various platforms (e.g. v13, v14 etc.) and development branches (e.g. v14.6, v14.8 etc.), please look into the start post of this thread.

Hello,
I have question because my system orginal will come with Windows 8 and than Sata drivers oem were 12.8.2.1000-A (06/09/2013). When new systems Windows come my oem update Sata to 14.5.2.1088-A (29/07/2015). Now to Windows 10 is only this the last sata drivers 14.5.2.1008-A. This is mobile workstation and soon I am going to do new clean install and now realy I don’t know which sata ahci will be the best for this system. This is Intel 8 series /220 / QM87. I have look on this first page and I found for example 12.9.4.1000 or 14.6.5.1035. but informations are to many :slight_smile: my Oem doesn’t update no more this drivers. Please advice me, what will be the best to install. I always do system always by Ntlite. Regards

@Dromadus :
The latest Intel RST AHCI/RAID driver for your Intel 8-Series Chipset is v14.8.16.1063 WHQL, but the Win10 in-box MS AHCI driver is very good as well.
If I were you, I would do a clean install of the upcoming Win10 v1803 without integrating any third party drivers. Once the OS is up and you should be unsatisfied with a certain driver, you can test other compatible drivers, which are offered by the manufacturer of the related device, but are able to return to the stock driver at any time.

Many thanks Fernando. I will do that.
Regards

Fernando, I forgot to ask, but like I remember You don’t prefer changing primarily Sata Drivers after installation? Do You change the mind or Windows 10 system is better to do this and without problems we can for example test other sata drivers after finish clean installation?

Regards

@Dromadus :
The latest Win10 in-box generic MS AHCI driver is much better than the early Win7/8/10 in-box ones. Furthermore it makes a big difference, if you change just the driver (done manually from within the Device Manager) or change the complete Intel RST Drivers & Software Set.
That is why I recommend the first option for AHCI users.
I personally prefer to do a clean install of the OS (without integrating any drivers or hotfixes). Once the OS is up and running, I can optimize my system according to my preferences and can compare different storage drivers without getting much garbage installed.

Thanks Fernando, I understood now :slight_smile:

@Fernando
In the start post you omitted to refer to the 64bit driver v14.8.17.1065 (26june2017) offered within the v14.8.18.1066 labelling.
I am confused why this xx.18.xx label does propose a xx.17.xx driver version.

Both driver versions are listed within the same sub-section of the start post, because they both belong to the same development branch 14.8 (platform: v14, branch v14.8, the next numbers are internal BUILD versions).
