Samsung Magician reports a compatibility issue and recommends to update driver to the latest version to enable some functions. Is v14.5.0.1081 not the latest driver for Z97 under Windows 10?

The latest 32/64bit Intel RST/RST(e) drivers of the v14 platform are listed within the first post of this thread.
By the way - the latest Intel RST/RST(e) drivers are not automaticly the best. Furthermore the current BIOS setting regarding the SATA mode (AHCI or RAID) may make a big difference regarding the driver choice.
I actually wanted to ask not which driver is the latest of the v14, but if I can use a latest platform driver?
What difference would this make about the driver?
To be able to answer this question I need the HardwareIDs of your in-use Intel SATA Controller.

You can install the Intel RST AHCI driver v14.8.18.1066 WHQL. Your system will be supported.
I thought I was clear, but I am asking if I can use a newer driver from a platform after v14?

The Intel RST driver v14.8.18.1066 WHQL is the latest one among all Intel RST platforms, which natively will support your system.
Nevertheless you can try to install any newer Intel RST driver, which has been mod and signed by me. You can find them within the first post of >this< thread. Don’t forget to import the Win-RAID CA Certificate and to set a Restore Point before starting the driver update.

Hello, I just switched to Z790 chipset, now I discovered that the BIOS has to be set to Raid mode, even if I’m not using RAID, to install Intel RST.
How can I do, withou having to reinstall Windows?

What lets you think, that you may have to reinstall Windows?
I assume, that you are booting off an NVMe SSD and not off a SATA connected disk drive.
Yes, NVMe SSD. Do you think I can add the drivers to working OS, then reboot and set to raid?
Windows should be repaired and install the drivers.

Hello everyone.
I can’t figure out which precise .inf files I should install on my system.
- Cpu intel i5-8500, chipset Intel B360, bios 4.10 (2019/05/07).
- The OS (windows 10 22h2 64 bit, UEFI install) is on a SATA-connected SSD (Samsung 860 evo; other mechanical-only HDs are connected, some via SATA, others via Sata to USB adapters).
if I understood the guide correctly, the archive to download that is best suitable for my system should be “Intel RST Drivers & Software Set v17.11.3.1010.2.rar”.
But at this point I’m lost, I don’t know what infs I should install (I don’t need raid). In the archive there are the following inf files:
- iaStorHsaComponent.inf (inside HsaComponent folder)
- iaStorHsa_Ext.inf (inside HsaExtension folder)
- iaStorAC.inf (inside Legacy folder)
- iaAHCIC.inf (inside Legacy folder)
- iaStorPinningComponent.inf (inside PinningComponent folder)
Should I install all 5 of them?

Since your on-board Intel SATA Controller is running in AHCI mode, I don’t recommend to install any “Intel RST Drivers & Software Set”, which is only important and useful for systems with an Intel RAID Array. The only relevant Intel RST *.inf file for your configuration is the file named iaAHCIC.inf.
If you want to replace the generic in-box MS AHCI driver by a specific Intel RST AHCI driver (e.g. the v17.11.3.1010 one), you should
a) run the Device Manager,
b) expand the “IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers” section,
c) right-click onto the listed “Standard SATA AHCI Controller”,
d) choose the options “Update driver” > “Browse my computer” and
e) navigate to the folder, which contains the desired iaAHCIC.inf file.
The installation will be done by the Device Management by its own.
