@salehdahab :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

I am searching myself for USB drivers, which do support Intel USB 2.0/3.0 Controllers and Hub Devices while running Windows XP.
If you should find them, please let me know it.

Dieter (alias Fernando)

Hello,
I apologize in advance if I’m posting this in the wrong place, I’m new to the forum.
First off, a big thank you to Fernando for creating this forum and a big thank you to everyone else for participating.

I recently installed Windows XP on my gaming PC. I’m trying to create a Windwos 10/Windows XP dual boot system. It’s taken me about four days to get it to work write, and I finally got it installed and booting earlier today. Thanks to Fernando, I was able to use one of his modded AHCI drivers to install it and get past the BSOD 7B error.

So, I’m now trying to find drivers for the hardware. Most of them are easy enough to find, the only issue is I have to burn them to a DVD-RW disc and that is just not working out very well. Has there been any success in developing XP supported drivers for USB?

@Kescarte_DeJudica :

Since there already exists a thread with a rather similar topic, I have added your post to it.
As you can see within >this< Sub-Forum, our XP expert XPLives is working on a solution for your problem, but he obviously has not yet found USB drivers, which are usable with modern Intel chipsets.

It’s posible a 64bit Intel 3.0 Driver to be used on XP x64?

@Josephmore :
Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
I have moved your post into this already existing thread, because your request has nothing to do with the Intel AHCI/RAID drivers.

As far as I know there isn’t any 32/64bit Intel USB 3.0 driver available, which works with Windows XP x86/x64.
For details please look into the start post of >this< thread.
You should be happy, if you can use the USB 2.0 ports of your system.

Dell made windows xp usb 3 drivers for e6520:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/ca/en/c…e-e6520/drivers

I cannot find any USB driver within the linked page.

look under "chipset"
http://www.dell.com/support/home/ca/en/c…?driverId=5XD8K

@789 :
Ok, now I found them, but they are only usable with NEC/Renesas USB Controllers.

Yes.
It shows that they are purposely not making XP drivers

Hope things goes well

I found some source code https://www.reactos.org/blog/49141 for reactOS close to WinXP, but NO complied .sys file there,
since future work is not complete:https://reactos.org/blogs/gsoc-xhci-final-submission
I think we need driver development expert to finish it before someone can follow the build instruction to complied it and upload here to let all to try it?

@Azlun :
Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!

I don’t know any driver development expert, who is willing to spend a lot of time to compile a *.SYS file for some users, who are trying to get the >16 years old OS Windows XP installed onto their brandnew computer.
These users should better look for a (second) old computer, which natively supports Windows XP.

Dieter (alias Fernando)

"old" doesnt mean "bad", XP is still good OS

@Azlun this xhci driver is too far from working solution. it can be finished by reactos community, but require months/years.
much faster to hack existing xp driver from via/nec/etron/fresco because they are xhci compatible and probably can work with intel chipsets

I didn’t write, that XP is bad. Whether an OS is good or bad, depends on the point of view.
What I wanted to say is, that it will be much easier and less time consuming to get an old computer and to install XP on it than to try to get XP running on an Intel computer with a KabyLake or CoffeeLake CPU.

If someone is interested in a Windows XP-PC I offer the following in Hamburg, Germany:
https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anze…172792-228-3537

I think XP still active on the Enterprise market and also Senior market like my father.
he is 64 years old, lack of PC knowledge. I bought him a brand new all-in-one computers.
even hardware is fast with Intel H110 chipset,but problem for him is WinXP is familiar and comply with all Stock apps, but Win10 can not comply well with such kind of old designed SW .
since no spare PCI-E extendable ports, only way is find a good xhci driver to enable exist USB, even it is USB2 is good enough.

I guess the ASMedia/VIA/NEC controller hardware registers address and many controller command are different from Intel’s.
so no possible to modded the exist driver.

such info driver developer need are documented here:
https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/pu…ce-usb-xhci.pdf

Unfortunately, the driver for WinXP has not been developed and will no longer be developed.
Forget about this system. Use Win 7 and never.

hopefully someone can help me out. @Fernando

I have been checking ASUS mobos with chipset 6,7,8 (socket 1155/1150)
I have noticed that the chip ASMEDIA 1083 serves as a bridge for the PCI port because some intel chipsets don’t support it natively Choosing the best chipset for Intel processor

however when I open the pdf manual of the P8P67-M mobo I read ASMEDIA 1042 ( is it a typo ?)
I have read that AM1042 serves as a bridge for the USB 3.0 ports.

my question is: Âżhas the AM1083 chip anything to do with USB 3.0?

I need a mobo for WINDOWS XP with USB 3.0 ports without using external PCI-E cards.
intel chipset 7/8 requires W7 and up and I have found nothing on the chipset 6 based mobos that indicates USB 3.0 ports will run at USB 3.0 speed under WINDOWS XP
