Is there a reasonable chance going back to 1.5 and flashing one version at a time would fix or is the guide the only real chance?
I ask as I’m already struggling with just getting the MEA going and knowing what to do with it let alone the rest of it particularly since there a few options to what process to follow.
No, usually a downgraded bios flash attempt, won’t fix CSME issues.
…this is a sign of poor IT knowledge/experience, and it may lead a user to get a death system, when using “critical” tools or actions, since the MEA tool only requires to drop in a full dump or partial (CSME_region only) dump file on it, that has to be made by the user from his own system.
Yes, understand there is a risk of bricking the motherboard.
If I just live with this problem seeing as I can still boot into Windows and not noticed issues while using it yet, what issues might I see or what issues might this cause do you know?
Its a personal desktop machine, so things like gaming, video, excel, word, browser stuff.
Besides the slow boot, usually users don’t see anything special @ “naked eye”, the most observed symptom is power management issues and mostly much more noted on laptops than desktop, but it varies from motherboard design to features fused by the OEM in the CSME fw image of each system. Others had issues om RAM speed or cpu clocks or lost OC settings behavior.
I remember that initially there were plenty of Intel 100/200 series with fw 11 issues and as you can see by yours…it still happens.
Go to MSI forum and look for SVET tools, i don’t remember if he had any “special” made flash tool for this generation of hw but for ex. he did it for the CSME v14 of the LGA1200 boards that also suffered from this.
