Theres no option for Verify in Colibri but it read the chip. Here is the dump, in 7z format: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=05029446869261296722
"Compare" in Function drop out = verify, sorry for any confusion, this is required / should be done before saving
So read >> compare >> Save
Please clarify, what BIOS do you want to be on, 1.3 or 1.5?
ok, in that case, ignore the last tinyupload link and here is the verified Colibri dump 7z: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=97935227624203955854
EDIT:1.3 if possible but 1.5 works too in case something goes wrong
1.5 says you can’t downgrade to anything below 1.4.1, so don’t do that again 1.14.0 is latest
I can put you on whichever you want, you have to pick.
ok then 1.3 hhaha

Yea, from what ive read its the best one. Ill be able to update from the Dell support site in the future if need be, correct?
See edit above, for version info, at least what they "say" is change logs
Yes, you just update normally after we fix, using stock EXE
i read it, thanks again
1.14, the latest bios version. Does that effect things?
No, I just wondered, so I’d know which stock version to look at, after I seen your dumps ME FW version did not match either 1.5 or 1.3
Just wondering, why did the programs think my chip was BV instead of JV?
You should choose BV for Colibri, it doesn’t read/write properly otherwise, and or may not have JV in it’s database for that version. If you want to dump with JV ID, use ASProgrammer.
It’s mainly about what chip’s info is used per ID chosen, if incorrect values are used then read/write will fail and not all programs are totally compatible with JV ID yet so older/previous ID is used instead.
BV is fine then
@MishimaPizza - first, pleas test writing this 1.2.1 BIOS to chip - http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…453552810786691
First, write the BIOS Only (16MB file) and see if system starts, if it does not, then find and write W25Q80 (1MB) chip (AFTER first dumping the chip)
Then if system still does not start some other chip has been messed up during your mixed-up update fiasco
Once working with above files, update to 1.3.0 using standard exe update process.
find and write w25q80? I dont understand
edit:nevermind i found 25q80 chip, here is dump: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=40650295837358790458
There are two other 8 pin chips in addition to the 25q128 and q80 as well, a Winbond 25X20CLNIG, and an unbranded one labeled APL5934DAU62W. What do the 25Q80 and those other two do?
edit2***: Colibri didnt have “auto” option like in step 3 of CH314 guide , so i just eased, blank checked, opened the bios bin and then clicked write.
Is that ok?
1.21 didnt work
is W25Q80 a seperate chip or do you mean write that file to my bios chip?
i just noticed there are some error messages in both what is on my chip and what was in the bin you sent me, attached are screenshots in 7z: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=26658479823813210356
edit: 25q80 didnt work either, laptop still doesnt turn on, keyboard and power button light, then turn off. No display
bump
i loaded up the ch314 to check it and for some reason now the comparison comes back with 2946932 differences between the info on my 25q128 chip, and the bios you gave me. Also when i hit erase originally it said the status register contained data and that might make the erasure incomplete, whats up with that?
edit: i used asprogrammer to do everything over again and it came back with one verification error, and when i loaded it in Colibri just to check, that verify came back with even more errors than before…
The status register boxes with checks are s09, s21, and s22 @Lost_N_BIOS
I reflashed them again and got no differences but my laptop still wont turn on i guess its dead for good bc i cant get anyone to help me, if i was able to fix it i was gonna compensate u :c
Hey so I managed to recover my laptop from the same problem using this flasher https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R5L…0?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and contacting an eBay seller to get the bios bin. I used this seller who also sells your chip https://www.ebay.com/itm/BIOS-CHIP-for-D…NcAAMXQdGJRzlbC ask for the bin after buying the chip and they will email it to you. flash your bios and only your bios with that bin and it should boot after 5-10 boot loops. you will have to set your service tag but hey the computer is back to life
