NVIDIA: Optimized nForce Driverpacks for Win7-10

Hi there,

I would like to ask, which driverpack would be the best choice for my old Abit AN8 mobo? As I see, there is an update (10/31/2015), and I’m a bit confused about the new packs.
The OS will be Win7 x64.

Waiting for your answers,

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

For your NF4 SLI mainboard I recommend to take the "64bit Special nForce RAID Driverpack for Win7-10".

For your NF4 SLI mainboard I recommend to take the "64bit Special nForce RAID Driverpack for Win7-10.

Thank you for the quick answer! My board is not an SLI product, does it have any significance?

No, "normal" nForce4 chipsets are supported as well.

Okay, I will install "64bit Special nForce RAID Driverpack for Win7-10", thank you very much!

Hi again,

I tried to install the mentioned pack on my AN8 (Win7 x64), but there is only one option in the list: "nVIDIA SMBus Driver". As I know, the old "Fernando pack" contains many options. Is that a problem?

Csaba Rosta

Not really. The installer may prefer the Win7 in-box drivers, but nevertheless you can install all drivers, which are part of my driverpack, manually from within the Device Manager.

Everything is seems to be okay in the Device Manager, I mean nothing is missing, so I don’t know, is the driver installed through the installer. Or should I install them manually?

If everything works fine, you should not change anything.

You can check the in-use driver (and its version) of all devices from within the Device Manager (right click onto the device > "Properties" > "Driver" > "Driver Details") and can compare the results with the content of the README.TXT file, which is within the root of my driverpack.

Hello,

I have an old Fujitsu with CPU E6600 on D2740-A2 main board running Win10pro 32. It includes NVIDIA GeForce 7100 and NVIDIA nForce 630i. So the Video adapter works fine with the nvidia 309.08 WHQL driver.
The only problem on this machine is the IDE ATA/SATA interface. It works as Standard-two cannel-PCI-IDE-Controller. and is very slow the HDD usage is 100% for the most time.
Is there a driver work on WIN10? I taste the Special nForce RAID Driverpacks for Win7-10 and the Latest nForce Driverpacks for Win7-10 but nothing happens.
How can I improve the perfomance of the SATA interfaces?

Thanks!

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

What means "nothing happens"?
Didn’t you get the related NVIDIA nForce SATA drivers installed or haven’t you seen any performance improvement?

Maybe only by replacing the nForce chipset by a modern and better one.

Hello,

thank you for reply!

I make the driver setup and there are no changes in the device manager, and the performance is bad like before. I have HDD access times about 1 to 5 seconds and hdd usage is 100% for long times.
I think the chipset is the reason to throw away this PC, an other PC with E6600 , Intel chipset and right sata-drivers runs much faster on windows 10.

Michael

Hello!
I try to install latest version with RAID support on Win7 x64 in my P5N-E with nForce 650 SLi, but SM bus controller cannot be installed. It tries to install, but it fails and after the failure, in device manager it’s shown as unknown device. Is there any solution about it?
It also does not install modded RAID and SATA drivers, because of the older release date, so I must install in manually through the device manager…
Thank you a lot!

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

Which package do you mean with "latest version with RAID support"? What was the name of the package?

Did you import the Digital Signature Certificate, before you ran the installer of the package?

Hallo,

i have a Pronlem with the Nvidia Network Controller. Eyery time Win10 Crash into Black Screen. The Dump file says the nvdia Vga Adapter crashes. I do erverting to found the Problem. The Problem is the onboard Netwerk Conroller from Nvidia. I can´t insatll your Driver for Windows 10, because erverytime i have an error, that some files are missing.
I will look tomorror for the inatll Problem. Mayby the Driver WHQL is the Problem.
At the Moment I habe an USB Network Card. I haven´t any BOSD or Black Screen again.

This Problem I have with all Nvdia Driver for VGA. I have an old ASUS Striker Extreme II board with Nforce 790. Everxbody else have the same Problem?

What makes you so sure about that? I heard about many problems with Win10 and the latest NVIDIA graphics drivers.

How did you try to install the NVIDIA nForce Ethernet driver?

I disable the onboard Network Controller in my BIOS. No Problems yet.
I have everytime Black Screens or BSOD with the Nvidia Network Card. Very often, when i Try to upload a file on my NAS or useing Teamspeak and a Game.
Everytime the nvlddmkm.sys error.
My System runs about 10 hours without Problems. Only with the USB Network Card (it from my ASUS Zen Book). I upload in the night 120GB on my nas. It was slow, because the USB Networkcard have only 100Mbit.
Later will buy a PCI Card.
When I uninstall the VGA Driver and use only the Standart from MS, I can use the onboard Network Card. Only onboard Network and Nvidia VGA Driver will Crash after some Minutes.
I try to intall your last Driver Package. When I try to install the Driver over the Device Manager, i take an error. Some files are missing. I will try it again today.

I don´t now the Problem. I can´t Import your last Network Driver.

Thank you for this important info.
I just have re-checked the complete content of the related INF file and found a mistake done by NVIDIA, when they compiled the original Ethernet driver v73.3.5 dated 08/12/2010:

  • There are at least entries about 2 different coinstaller files named fdco1.dll and fdco2.dll, but they had put just the file fdco1.dll into their latest nForce chipset driverpacks 15.56 and 15.57.

As a consequence I will correct this NVIDIA mistake regarding the Ethernet drivers v73.3.5, which had been transfered into my "Latest nForce Driverpacks" and "Special nForce RAID Driverpacks".
The corrected driverpacks v10.4 will be uploaded within the next hours.
I am sorry, that I haven’t found this additional mistake within the NVIDIA nForce Ethernet INF files earlier.

@ all:
Update of the start post

Changelog:

  • ImportCertificate script updated/Ethernet Driver corrected:
    • “Latest 32/64bit mod+signed nForce Driverpacks for Win7-10” > now v10.4
    • "Special 32/64bit mod+signed nForce RAID Driverpacks for Win7-10" > now v10.4
  • ImportCertificate script updated:
    • “Special 32bit mod+signed nForce2-4 LEGACY Driverpack for Win7-10” > still v10.3
    • "Special 64bit mod+signed nForce3-4 LEGACY Driverpack for Win7-10" > still v10.3

Any feedback is much appreciated, but don’t forget to mention the OS you are running and the nForce configuration (chipset and SATA mode) of your system

Good luck with these updated/corrected nForce chipset driverpacks!
Dieter (alias Fernando)

@ Fakigel:
It would be fine, if you would test the manual installation of the corrected Ethernet driver, which is within the “Latest nForce Driverpacks” and the “Special nForce RAID Driverpacks”.
Please report, what happens while trying to get the Ethernet driver installed.
