This latest reverse engineered UEFI also works on the K7, correct? You don’t explicitly state that it does. But since it’s a K7 UEFI modified to work on the Gaming 5, it stands to reason that it should also work on the K7 . . .
(I just don’t want to take the chance of flashing this on my K7, only to find it doesn’t actually work.)
Thanks very much for creating these modified custom UEFIs, by the way! Shame Gigabyte keeps all the extra options hidden in their official UEFIs.
I take it they’re doing it in the name of keeping the UEFI menus “simple”. Though it’s probably just laziness. Less features to fully validate and debug, if you hide them.
The reverse engineered UEFI is for the Gaming 5 only, it doesn’t bring anything new to the table for the K7. A modified F7b for the K7 is in the pipeline though and should be up in a couple days.
Hey ket,
not want to bother you, but I still cannot get your custom audio driver to work. Even after completely remove old drivers or install gigabytes drivers first. Is there anything else I could try?
varyak,
I had the same problem in the beginning, what it worked for me was >
1 - uninstall everything!! realtek, SB drivers, check device manager to be sure make uninstall device + driver.
2 - restart
3 install realtek 1
4 - restart
5- check device manager if you have 2 Realtek High Definition Audio with the same Driver Version, if not update the 2nd one manually with the extracted files from the first Setup (realtek 1).
5 - restart
6 - Everything is ok on device manager? If ok , restart!
7 - install SB drivers,
8 - restart!, restart!! (2 times for luck)
and it should be ok
Faster option >
1 - unpack setup, install both driver on the 2 realtek devices
2 - restart
3 - restart
4 - install SB,
5 - restart! restart!! 2 times
And yes I made all those restarts just to be sure, I dunno if it’s necessary but did the trick and it worked somehow

What is your full system spec? (including Windows version) I might be able to work out whats wrong from that but so far everything I’ve looked at says the driver should be working for you I can’t replicate the problem you are having at all.
What are the additional features on the K7 UEFI over the Gaming 5 (i mean except the beta P-State support)?
EZ OC memory, or whatever Gigabyte call it. It might help people with difficult to OC memory such as modules with Hynix ICs.

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 1703 (Build 15063.308) (Language en-us, with German Region settings)
AMD Ryzen 7 1700
AX370-Gaming 5
16GB@3200Mhz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
I did wonder about the version of Windows you are running but you should be ok there unless there is somethind odd with that build. I’m going to try rebuilding the custom driver but rolling back to a slightly older one, 8186, instead of 8245 as at this point the only thing I can think of is simply there is something about newer driver releases that is problematic for some people.
You said some days ago to install the drivers from the cd first, do you know by any chance if they are the same as the one from the website? As I don’t have a cd/dvd drive anymore I just assumed those will be good enough. If they are different I would organize some usb drive to try the drivers from the CD.
New beta UEFI just dropped at Gigabyte forum (F9c for Gaming 5)
What are the changes / improvements for F9c? If you have a link to F9c that would be useful too.
As far as I know the drivers from Gigabytes site are the same as on the DVD. I think I might of been able to replicate your problem now as well, no idea what triggered it it just started happening so I think my initial suspicions of newer driver releases having problems are probably right. I’ll try to get the 8186 driver package done and uploaded for some point tomorrow.

No changelog provided, but all boards got a beta with AGESA 1006b.
It’s on the first post there: http://forum.gigabyte.us/thread/1542/ori…s-thread?page=1

Ok I’ll poke around F9c and see if theres anying of interest. Hopefully Gigabyte have actually done something useful with it like fix the 2400 and 2667MHz RAM dividers that for some G.Skill kits at least are broken.
Confirmed the changelog is "Mostly memory tweaks / AGESA 1006B"
ket will you be releasing a new modded version for gaming 5, with this recent update?
Maybe. When I poked around F9c there was very little, next to nothing in fact, to say it was worth going to the effort. There were no new options either. Might just be best to wait for AGESA 1.0.0.7 at this point its the next code revision that is meant to bring some good changes and I’d even say start to make AM4 look more like a platform thats matured and ready.
Added Realtek 8224 driver, see post #3
The new drivers work perfectly! Thank you!
can i use it for k5??
