[Offer] Win7/8.1 Drivers for USB 3.x Controllers of modern AMD Chipsets

no problem !

It will be interesting to see how future ryzen revisions compete with threadripper 7xxx or will the canonkongā€™s driver support modern ryzen chipsets such as the x870 and above or future TR chipsets?

After installing Windows on MSI boards, one device remains without a driver (in my case acpi/mbad0001). This is MSI Software Component Interface. The latest driver version that supports Win7 is 1.0.0.12. (msiswacpi.inf, msiswacpi.cat, ModulInterface.dll)

Iā€™m not sure if this will help or not, but I had a missing acpi driver which a Google search said was part of the MSI Software Component Interface. Unfortunately, I donā€™t remember the hardware ID. Anyway, it turned out to be part of the Radeon Software driver package for my GPU. Removing and reinstalling the driver package fixed it for me.

msiswacpi.zip (9.7 KB)

Thanks for the edited inf. Now I know that DLL and exe files are not necessary

@canonkong
If I do not want to download your files, how can I manually add the USB 3 drivers myself?
What files would I need?
Motherboard: B650 (AM5 five)

@ anybody

Second question, different scenario.

For AM4 (four) motherboards, do I still need to install AMDā€™s chipset drivers for USB 3 if I used this tool https://www.gigabyte.com/Support/Utility?kw=Windows+USB+Installation+Tool&p=1 ?

Use DISM++ to add the driver.

But which file do I need to slipstream into the ISO?

The b650 motherboard only has AMD Chipset Driver.
I used 7zip to extract, but it doesnā€™t show any USB 3 files.

This is AM5 not am4

@canonkong - thank you for your work!
Windows 7 Pro work properly on MSI x670e Godlike & Ryzen 7950x3D with your latest drivers ( 2024.12.14).

In my case, I did not have to replace the acpi.sys file.

The motherboard does not allow MBR installation actually - I had to install the system in UEFI+LEGACY (GPT) mode.

The 10G LAN port is not working, but I can still use the secondary 2.5G standard LAN port.

@canonkong is there any evidence of working Asus wrx90 board with your driver or wrx80/x670 is absolute maximum?

upd Also it would be cool to know if is there any difference between x670 and x870 in terms of system performance?

Hey guys and gals.

I might have missed something here so forgive me if I did.

I did get Windows 7 working a few years back on my Ryzen 5 1600X but I cant get this working on my newer systems.

I have an MSI X570S Carbon Max WiFi with a 5600G
and
MSI B650 Gaming Plus Wifi with a 9700X

And I cant get USB to work on either.

I added the 256SHA update with NTlite as well as the drivers linked in the OP for non Asus mobos

But sadly the USB is still not working so I cant get through the install. Not sure what the issue is tbh.

Any help here would be appreciated

Use PE system to install the system and add the driver use dism++
