[OUTDATED] Intel Ethernet/LAN Drivers

Zitat von Morku im Beitrag #174

Is it just me? When always I go to that version, I get a Code 39 in device manager.
Reverting back to 12.18.9.1 and all is fine.
What could be the reason?

Version 12.18.9.7 fixed the issue. So 12.18.9.6 is just buggy.

Just a quick note if anyone else (like me) finds this thread:
The naming of the .inf-files corresponds to the NDIS (Network Driver Interface Specification) version that is used. Microsoft provides an overview of the corresponding versions and operating systems: Overview of NDIS versions

Example:
If a file is named e1d63x64.inf / e1d63x32.inf / e1d63.inf (e1r68x64/e1s68x64) then it’s corresponding NDIS version is 6.30 and you need at least Windows 8 to use it.

I think the third character is used to distinguish between the different series
E1D series: Desktop
E1R series: R = Redundant? (those come with FPP)
E1S series: Server

++-------- NDIS Version (see table above)

++----------- NIC Type: E1 = Ethernet with at least 1GB/s (1000 MBit/s)

@Fernando maybe you could update the first posting with this info?

@e.v.o :
Thank for your explanation about the specific NDIS versions of all Windows Operating Systems and the meaning of the Intel Ethernet driver’s INF file names. This will help the users with an Intel chipset mainboard to find the latest "pure" Intel Ethernet driver for their in-use Windows OS and computer type (Desktop/Mobile/Server etc.).

I would be able to do it, but it wouldn’t be the best solution, because the start post of this already existing old thread
a) neither contains any general information about the topic of this thread nor links to the (currently) latest Intel Ethernet drivers and
b) has not been started by me (it is very difficult to create a new start post for an old thread, because all posts are sorted automaticly by date of their creation/first edition).

My recommendation:
You (or someone else) should start a new thread, whose first post contains all required information/download links and will be updated when needed.
As soon as the new thread about the "Intel Ethernet/LAN Drivers" is online, this thread will be closed and marked as "OUTDATED".

take a look and see if this is a good start: [Latest] Intel Ethernet/LAN Drivers

@Nyamp :
Yes, it is a very good start.
A big thankyou goes to you for taking the time to create the new thread and to overtake the support of it!

@all:
Since there is now a new thread about the same topic, whose start post contains all needed information and will be updated, when newer drivers are available, I have “unstickied” and closed this thread.
From now on you will find the latest Intel Etherner drivers within the start post of >this< thread. If you should find newer Intel Ethernet drivers elsewhere or have a question regarding the Intel Ethernet drivers, please post it into the linked thread.
Enjoy it!
