@ Lost_N_BIOS:
Thanks for your additional info regarding the location of the broken link to SoniX’s SetDevID tool. The link has meanwhile been corrected by me.
@SoniX :
Since I would have problems to keep the SetDevID tool up-to-date, I haven’t attached the latest version of your SetDevID tool to the start post of this thread, but linked to >this< post instead. Please replace the attachment there after each update of the SetDevID tool.
Thanks!
Thanks Fernando, but that link is post #219 above, without any SetDevID tool there (at least right now)
@Fernando
Thanks.
SetDevID
Actual/Current version 0.2.0
Actual PCI ROM modules (not AHCI/RAID related) (15)
@Lost_N_BIOS
Windows
"Device Manager" - "Network"
If there is no Intel network adapter in the list, then nothing needs to be done.
@Lost_N_BIOS :
With my current mobile system the link is correct and leads to the post with the desired attachment (post #213).
@Fernando , this is link to 213 to me, so weird we have this redirecting/linking oddities - Actual PCI ROM modules (not AHCI/RAID related) (15)
^^ that is same link SoniX posted above too
@SoniX - thanks, I will have him check.
Thanks @SoniX - I got a screenshot from user, No Intel device there, only Realtek x2 - Lenovo 100-15IBD Custom Bios (2)
So, since it’s in the BIOS, I can go ahead and update to 1.5.62 then for both 153A and 155A?
@Lost_N_BIOS
We usually remove this "garbage" or ignored altogether.
These OROM are not related to Realtek LAN.
Updates for the first post:
- Intel GE is now at v1.5.88
- Intel CE is now at v0.1.14
Both can be found in UBU.
Credits goes to SoniX
Also, if i may make a suggestion: It could be a good idea to add a download link for the Realtek LAN ROM "PXE + RPL" version. This could be usefull for other peoples like me who likes to keep the same fonctionality as there was in the original Bios, or also to people who have enough free space in their Bios to add the RPL functionnality (the PXE + RPL ROM is bigger than just the PXE ROM). If this suggestion is put in the first post, i suggest with it to also put a note to help people differenciate them in their Bios by putting the precision that the PXE version is usually named "rtegpxe.lom" in the original Bios and the "PXE + RPL" version is usually named "rtegrom.lom". Both versions are currently at v2.66 and can both be downloaded from the same place in the Realtek website.
@Phoenix48 :
Thanks for your contribution and advices regarding the start post of this thread (latest update done at 01/15/2018).
You are absolutely right - it doesn’t make much sense to offer download links to meanwhile outdated BIOS modules. Furthermore some BIOS modules, which may be interesting for the users, are currently missing within the start post.
Since I am going to retire from the Forum since several months and don’t have the required time anymore to keep all “my” threads up-to-date forever, I am not able to follow your advices.
That is why I have set the prefix “OUTDATED” to the thread title and hope, that anyone else (what about you?) will start in the near future a new thread with a quite similar title, but more up-to-date content. Once this will be done, this thread can be closed or even removed.
Thanks again for your support!
