[Problem] Bricked Lenovo ThinkStation P350 Tiny

Hello,

I have a Lenovo P350 Tiny that is bricked due to a BIOS update failure. After pressing the power button, the red LED will light up for a few seconds, and it will turn off. The CPU fan will spin for a short while when the red LED is lit. It is not responding to the recovery procedure (i.e. putting the jumper on CLR CMOS with a BIOS recovery USB inserted).

I have a T48 programmer and managed to dump the BIOS from the W25R256JV BIOS chip. I have uploaded dumped BIOS file here: Unique Download Link | WeTransfer

Can someone point me to the steps required to revive this P350 Tiny?

The steps are identifying/compare the point of corruption in the image you just dump.
Tools: UEFI tool/NE and Hex editor
Use another dump or Lenovo files to fix it by swapping/merging corrupted bios volumes or CSME FW v15.
Images to use, M3JKT24A (the one you were before…and the M3JKT46A the one you tried to update.

The IQ5X0IL1 NM-D321 seems to have 2 ICs, one in each board side.

Several identical situations on the forum regarding recover of ThinkCentre M70q Gen 2, M90q Gen 2, ThinkStation P350 Tiny, all the same, so look for it for more guidance.

OK. I happen to have a BIOS dump file for the same model but from a different machien from my vendor who was trying to help me recover this system. The BIOS dump file can be downloaded here: Unique Download Link | WeTransfer

Can I just flash this BIOS dump file into the EEPROM chip? If so, how can I copy the DMI information from the original BIOS dump file I have using the T48 programmer to this one?

This PAD contains original system data, don’t know if anything else is around in other places on the image structure.

Now… did you paid any attention to what i wrote??? Whats the content of each IC of the board?
Can you flash this or that, sir you can flash whatever you want, im not here to assure you anything neither is the system in my bench to lose my time with it.
Nothing else to add, good lucj, all the best.

I followed the steps described by lbf6 here: Lenovo M900 Tiny Bricked - #25 by lfb6 and managed to revive the P350 Tiny using M3JKT46A BIOS.

That’s the “spirit”, glad you made it, enjoy the forum resources.

Hi Adrian,

I’m repairing a Lenovo ThinkStation P350 Tiny (IQ5X0IL1 / NM-D321), and my BIOS is corrupted.

I saw that you previously read the BIOS from your working P350 Tiny with a programmer, and you mentioned that you also had a dump from another P350 Tiny.

Could you please share the full 32MB SPI BIOS dump with me if you still have it?

I have a programmer and only need it for motherboard repair. I don’t need to keep my original MAC address, serial number, or DMI information.

If possible, you can send the dump to me by private message.

Thank you very much!

Hi everyone,

I am repairing a Lenovo ThinkStation P350 Tiny motherboard.

Board information:

  • Model: Lenovo ThinkStation P350 Tiny

  • Board: IQ5X0IL1

  • Board ID: NM-D321

  • Chipset: Intel Q570

  • SPI flash: 32MB

I am looking for a complete 32MB SPI BIOS dump read from a working P350 Tiny / M90q Gen 2 machine.

I have already tried the official Lenovo BIOS and several reconstructed BIOS images, but the motherboard still does not boot correctly. At this point I would really like to test a genuine dump from another working machine.

I do not need my original MAC address, serial number, UUID, or DMI information. A dump from another machine is fine.

If anyone has a working dump for:

  • P350 Tiny

  • IQ5X0IL1

  • NM-D321

  • M90q Gen 2 / same platform

I would really appreciate it if you could share the full 32MB BIN file.

I have a programmer and can read/write the SPI flash myself.

If you have one, please send me a download link or contact me by private message.

Thank you very much for your help!
