Hey guys, i got dell 5820. After i bought it i update the bios to current then i order AMD RX 5700 XT when i install the driver and reboot it, and check GPU-Z it’s seems that it not work, i checked on device manager it got warning “Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)“ then i read from dell forum that it needs older bios, i tried to downgrade the bios and it failed on intel ME so the bios firmware didn’t installed and restart.
when i go into windows the driver is detected and normal but when i restart the pc again it back to code 43 error. I don’t have a clue what to do.
i read other post in this forum, for modding the bios is impossible and won’t share how to because security vulnerability. If i someone can help me mod the bios for RX 5700 XT, add resizeable bar support and add CPU whitelist to be able to use xeon W-22xx above 120w TDP would be great!
My motherboard S/N is 0X8DXD and i heard the only board that can use xeon W-22xx freely is 06JWJY & 0X80MX
Error 43 happens when the GPU has an hw issue, didnt worked the 1rst time exaclty by the same issue as it’s still present, its no mb bios downgrade.
On 2nd attempt, the system was just forced to re-configure devices and that’s why you got the Error 43, ask your money back…
I just tested on my dell t5610 it’s working normally no warning and installing it with the latest radeon pro driver, the same as the dell 5820 and doing reboot a few time is all good…
Then if you dont want to downgrade, nothing more i can help.
Really dont know why because any mod should be done on the current desired bios version, in this case you need to downgrade and it will be necessary to use the service_jumper on the mb or a SPI programmer, good luck.
Thank you so much for your time man, i just don’t know what to do I never use the service jumper method before do you have any reference how to do it? I don’t have any SPI programmer right now
A bit tricky for uses without skill or never done it before…
The jumper should be refered in the HW maintenance manual.
Also you need to learn/read CSME FW Engine tools and other Dell systems on the forum on using this jumper in associated operations using the jumper on “Service Mode” etc…
Cant afford a teaching class time, sorry, that’s from me, good luck.
DO NOT enagage further if this system is primary and you care for the asset, all this has risks.
