[Problem] Update of Dell T7810 Workstation BIOS

Hi,

I recently purchased refurbished dell t7810 workstation with improved specifications.

Since the system took long time to boot, I thought it would be beneficial to update the BIOS as it was available on Dell website for its service tag G2RFWL2

So I downloaded the .exe file and ran it on win10. It gave a message that the BIOS Is being updated. Don’t switch off system. The system will restart. Etc.

I didn’t do anything. It shut down and tried to restart. But it showed black screen. For very long time. Plus the wired mouse or keyboard were not responding. Eventually I had to turn it off.

Since then I have tried a host of suggestions available online. These include:

1>Jumper pin transfer from PSWD to RTCRST.

2>CMOS battery reset by removal. Keeping away for 5 mins then reinstall.

3>graphics card removal then try power up.

4>removal of all rams except 1 for each processor, then turning it on

5>remove sata ssd then turning on.

6>Etched BIOS recovery file on a flash drive and plugged into usb ports. Pressed ESC + CTRL on power up but nothing came up on screen.

But Nothing has worked so far. The system when turned on shows white light in switch. Even that small disk writing light below start switch blinks in a while. The fans are running. But no power to usb and no signal to monitor dell P2414H

I tried the method proposed here

Then here 2nd post(using renamed BIOS_IMG.rcv as /writehdrfile not available on linux. Please see this discussion)

Please could someone help me how to get my system back on else this investment is going down the drain.

Maybe worth mentioning that it has RAID0 on two ssds in PCIE 3.0 slot. Could that be causing an issue.

Much thanks and regards

Anirudh
