Finally I decided to install a clean Win10 pro 64bits on my mobile workstation. It is a HP EliteBook 8570w with Intel QM77 Express Chipset, so first I search for the recommended AHCI driver following "best" AHCI driver table and I ended choosing Intel RST(e) v13.1.0.1058 WHQL, but I have a strange issue:
1. I tried manually install the driver under device manager (this is not my first time doing on a PC) and it ended on "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date" actual installed driver is 12.9.4.1000
2. I tried to install the complete driver/software set v13.1.0.1058 but ended on "This platform is not supported" (I am attaching Intel log from the failed installation)
System Information:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E03&SUBSYS_176B103C&REV_04\3&B1BFB68&0&FA
Actual BIOS:
F.61 lastes on HP website for EliteBook 8570w
Latest Intel ME firmware:
I recent flashed from firmware 8.1.30.1350 to 8.1.70.1590 (Corporate) without any issue/problem following "plutomaniac" instruction on this forum
Do I am missing something?
@mramirezusa :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum and thanks for your feedback!
After having read your report I have recognized, that Intel QM77 Chipset systems running in AHCI mode indeed are natively not supported by the Intel RST(e) drivers v13.1.0.1058 WHQL. According to the related INF file only “Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controllers” with the DeviceID DEV_1E02 are fully supported by these v13.1.0.1058 drivers.
I will add this detail to the start post of >this< thread.
I am sorry for your trouble trying to get the related driver installed onto your Intel 7-Series chipset system.
Regards
Dieter (alias Fernando)
