Hello,
I’ve modded several 100/200 chipset boards, with and without pin mod to enable coffeelake chips, skylake/kabylake xeons, and now i’m running into the issue where i can’t mod this b360 acer board to switch consumer to corporate ME version to enable xeon support. I’ve attached the bios dump (read with ezp2010). This is what i see with the coffeetime tool, it can’t do much to this bios file.
I’ve also tried new engine UEFITOOL (replace option disabled), old engine UEFITOOL (supposedly lets me edit me regions but crashes on file load - tried several versions), intel FIT, me_cleaner, nothing had anything helpful for me so far. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
I’ve flashed the bios, but when i power on, the led and fan power for less than a second and then it stops. Same with 65 and 135W power adapters. Tried with E-2244G (4c8t) and E-2124G(4c4t). Both rated at 71W but that is just on paper, I assume, since the 8c i9-9900 is 65W. Would you mind sharing what changes you’ve made? Also i can’t tell if the HAP bit is set to on or off.
Thank you!
update: *skill issue on my part*
i’m on this again and it seems that it’s a write protection issue i can’t get past yet with my ezp2010 programmer. bios is W25Q128JVSQ. tried a different position of the WP jumper on the motherboard, also tried removing it, my checksums of written and modded bios file are still different. i’ll check my options and get back with another update. i’ll try with my raspberry tomorrow.
the modded bios file might be just fine
update2: flashed successfully with raspberry 2 model b, signatures match. i3-8100 works. E-2244G and E-2124G still no POST.
only change Reserved to yes in FIT it should be equivalent to enable HAP bit, i think it’s not possible using a xeon in csme 12 with 14nm chipset (H310, B360, Z390) and i only found successful report with 22nm (H310C, B365, Z370) variant.
thanks for looking into it. i’ve also kinda come to the same conclusion that so far, there’s no support yet. once i found that the “H BA” platform has no version lower than 12
thanks again. tried this bios as well but it didn’t work out. still no POST.
as a therapeutic/revenge against intel measure, i did the pin mod and placed it into a modded bios veriton N4640G
