I previously asked Asrock for a custom BIOS and they actually delivered it, but it’s now outdated and doesn’t have the latest AGESA or security fixes. I tried asking for a new one, but they haven’t answered for a month
Is it possible to unlock the mentioned settings in the latest (10.02) BIOS? Enabling them results in a power saving of ~30w, which I think is quite substantial.
The files are here: Index of /rom - Original 8.03, modded 8.03 (“TS05”), and original 10.02.
Sorry to step with such view/opinion but you can’t decompose and analyse both images to see what differences in code/modules?
You seem familiar enough with this system…cause you’re asking someone to waste his time on something a bit consuming…
Dont take me wrong…im just being honest with my PoV.
I already tried taking a look around with UefiTool, but I’m not really experienced with it. It’s also not a board I’d like to brick (although I’m not sure how plausible that is with BMC/IPMI) - also it’s my (home) server where I’d like to keep the downtime to a minimum.
No, not at all…no need to apologise anything, and i wouldn’t risk it also, being my home server asset.
Feel free to wait for other users PoV, good luck.
Asrock sent me the bios, finally. I think modding it wouldn’t be possible because it’s signed anyway? Or flashing wouldn’t have been so straightforward.
