Good morning. I have an Asus Q170M-C motherboard with a BIOS password. I tried reprogramming the chip with a dump but it stops producing video output. On Asus’s website there is a .CAP file but it isn’t a correct BIOS.
Here is the original BIOS file I read.
Could someone remove the password for me?
Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Good afternoon. I’ve been trying both options for hours and it still doesn’t work. In the end, I’m going to break the chip’s pins from taking it out and putting it back in.
I’m interested in your problem, and although I’m not an expert, I’ve noticed that the original BIOS has an extra 1 KB and its Intel ME version is 11.0.0.1168. If we download the latest BIOS version from the manufacturer’s website, the Intel ME version is much newer than the original, as it’s 11.8.65.3590.
Therefore, I looked for an older version with an Intel ME version closer to the original and found this one.
Good evening. It works. Thank you very much for sending me the file. I’m very grateful. It took a little while to display video, but the motherboard is working.
I don’t know if it’s too much to ask, but which programs did you use to edit and modify the BIOS?
