I need the original 8MB full BIOS dump for ASRock B85M Pro3 Rev 1.02.
The official website only provides 4MB BIOS files, but the motherboard uses an 8MB (64Mbit) chip.
I already tried programming with the 4MB file (and even hybrid solutions), but the board does not boot correctly.
Could anyone please share the original 8MB dump from a working board?
Thank you very much in advance, and sorry for bothering.
I’ve been struggling with this issue for days.
Edit by Fernando: Thread title shortened and customized
My ASRock B85M Pro3 Rev 1.02 board has an 8MB W25Q64 SPI chip installed, but the official ASRock BIOS files are only 4MB.
Do I need to replace the chip with a 4MB SPI flash (like W25Q32) to use the official 4MB BIOS files directly?
Or is there a proper way to adapt the 4MB file to the 8MB chip?
I want to sincerely thank everyone who helped me during the BIOS repair process.
You all took the time to guide me, share your knowledge, and explain each step clearly.
Here’s what we actually did:
We downloaded the official BIOS file from ASRock’s website.
Then we wrote it directly to the chip using a programmer.
Since the original file was smaller than 8 MB, we padded the remaining space to make a full 8 MB image that fits the chip perfectly.
