Hello everyone
I have just bought a nvme ssd for my old gamer pc. After mounting it with a PCI adapter and cloning my C drive, I can’t boot on it. I realise that not all motherboards are compatible with nvme boot, despite the drive being detected in windows. I also learn that some modify their bios to make them compatible and I find the topic that explains how to do. I modified the last update of my bios available from MSI (MSI Z87 G41 PC Mate)
I’m not sure how to do this.
I found this request that seems to talk about the same motherboard, but it does not work either ( [Request] MSI Z87-G41 BIOS with NVMe Boot Support )
Here’s my bios modify :

Did I make the right changes?
Thanks in advance
Alexis

Welcome to the Win-Raid Forum!
To be able to evaluate the quality of your BIOS modding I need the original BIOS. Please give me the link to it. Then I will give you my rating of your work.
I’ve added the original bios file to the drive (it’s the zip file).
Thanks Fernando
Hello Alexis,
according to what I have seen, the BIOS modification has been done correctly, but I cannot give you any guarantee, that it will be flashed properly. Do it at your own risk by using the M-Flash tool after having given the exact original BIOS file name (inclusive its extension).
Good luck!
It’s already done, the bios are flashing. But it’s impossible to detect the nvme SSD in the bios and thus boost it.
Is there anything else to try?
The BIOS doesn’t show the NVMe SSD as long as the CSM has been disabled, but nevertheless the SSD is detected by the BIOS and can be used even as bootable system drive. Please read carefully the related chapters of >this< Guide (especially the “Additional Notes” of chapter “Step 3 - Flashing of the modded BIOS” and the complete chapter “Step 4 - Installation of Win10/11 onto the NVMe SSD”).
