[Request] NVMe Mod Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4 U1L BIOS

Hello there, I am new to the forum. I have read the guide on how to modify the bios but I it didn’t work, I followed every step so I had no other option but to ask the experts if I could get a mod bios for my mobo which is "Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4 v1.3." I have the latest bios version which is U1L but I want to install a nvme disk in order to install Windows 10, in other words, a bootabe disk, if anyone could share a mod bios please, please I would be very grateful. Thank you so much in advance.

U can share ur attempt mod file and it can be verified.

Hello again. I decided to give it another shot following the guide again but now with much more careful and it worked. I updated my bios and installed Windows on a nvme disk. Now I can boot Windows from my nvme drive. Thnak you so much for the guide.

Which specific guide did you follow? I have a GA-Z68XP-UD4 and am now trying to get it on U1L bios and add NVMe booting.

So, while following that guide, it seems there is a padding problem, but the pad exists on the original rom from Gigabyte, but not in the modified ROM:

Will this be a problem?

Yes, you may run into a problem while flashing such modded BIOS.
I recommend to use another BIOS modding tool.
Which one did you choose?

I used mmtool 4.50.0.23 to add the NvmExpressDxe_Small.ffs as compressed, then used uefitool to compare the original and the modified version as described in the guide.

I followed the uefitool part of the guide to add NvmExpressDxe_Small.ffs and the re-opened it and it also removed the pad file:

@reukiodo
After having tried some different tools I found one, which was able to insert an NVMe module (even the “normal” uncompressed NvmExpressDxe_5.ffs) without removing the related Pad-file.
Look here:

The modded BIOS file is attached as *.rar archive.
Please check its content yourself by using the UEFITool and rename it by giving it the original name. Then you can flash it at own risk by using the Q-Flash Utility according to >this< Guide.
Good luck!

Flashed easily with the BIOS’ Q-Flash and after a few reboots, shutdown to swap all drives for an NVMe and it worked a charm! Now booting Win10 from a Kioxia 256GB NVMe drive!

Thanks @Fernando !

It is fine, that you succeeded with the BIOS, which had been modded by me.
