[Request] Ryzen 2000 CPU on Acer Aspire GX-281

Hello everyone,

I have an Acer Aspire GX-281 with the B350 chipset and I’m considering upgrading my CPU. According to AMD, the B350 chipset should support Ryzen 2000 (Pinnacle Ridge) CPUs with a proper BIOS update.

My current questions are:

  1. Has anyone successfully installed a Ryzen 5 2600, 2600X, Ryzen 7 2700, or 2700X on the GX-281?

  2. Which BIOS version is required for compatibility with these Ryzen 2000 CPUs?

  3. Are there any known issues with VRM, stability, or fTPM when using these CPUs on the GX-281?

  4. Does Windows 11 work officially with Ryzen 2000 CPUs on this system, assuming TPM 2.0 is enabled?

Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

1 - Only a user with same system can give you an insight
2 - Bios from the OEM… latest one doesn’t have the cpuID 800F82

4 - Officialy by MS they are not in the W11 list, still like many other cpus’s running out there with Win 11, dont see why woudn’t run. Plenty of bypass tools in the wild…

Besides cpu mcode, the AGESA may lack the support or restringed by the OEM, it would require you to do several tests and getting a SPI programmer.
My PoV only, wait for other users.
