I’m after touchscreen drivers for the Linx tough tab 8 that runs x64 windows 10. So far I’ve scoured the internet and haven’t found a thing for it, i guess because its a commercial tablet so software and drivers don’t pop up in the public domain. Also Linx is defunct so there’s no way to get drivers from them.
This tablet looks to be identical to the Newland NQuire 800 ii Plus hardware wise minus the storage size. I’ve Emailed Newland several times in the hope i might get a driver pack from them, but i just get marketing junk in return. I’ve also tried Exertis uk (the supplier to Linx) no response either.
I have however tried multiples of Goodix 1001 x64 drivers and had no luck.
I then bought another untested tough tab 8, in the hope i could revive it and extract the drivers. i got it to boot up but the drive is Bitlocked and i don’t have the key and i expect its impossible to crack the bitlock with tools.
I have a linx 820 (x86) that has what i thought, the same Goodix 1001 chip, so i spent several hours trying to get my tough tab to boot X86 win10 via CSMwrap so i could see if the 820 drivers worked, but no dice. It later turned out that after taking them apart to read off the QR codes stuck to the touch panel chips, that they were indeed different firmware even though they both used Goodix 1001 drivers.
so now I’m here.. hoping some one might be able to help.

Welcome to the Win-Raid Forum!
If you want to get usable drivers for a new PC/laptop, it is always a good idea to look into the Support pages of its manufacturer (here: Linx).
Another possibility is to do a “Google Search” by entering the VendorID and DeviceID details of the related devices (e.g. “VEN_8086&DEV_A876”). You usually can get them by running the Windows Device Manager, doing a right-click onto the related device and choosing the options “Properties” > Details" > “Property” > "HardwareIDs.
Good luck!
As Stated in my post, afaik the Linx company doesn’t exist anymore and their website and support pages no longer hosted. I was able to get some drivers for other devices using way back machine on their sites but nothing of any use for the Tough tab.
i have also searched google extensively using the VendorID and hardwareID, and found a list of x64 compatible drivers for the Goodix 1001 touch screen, even though they install fine despite version numbers being early or late, none of them have worked. with the exception of one that thought the screen was an inch wide and had random multiple touches going off in that inch wide strip before it stopped responding at all within 10 seconds of installing the driver.
if it helps,
PanelID is :FPG080-0780BT TG03 revision
ACPI\GDIX1001
QR code (that’s on the touch panel cable / chip) : 2014060016-7008010120369-2034-0600R
The tablets are EOL now so many are being e-wasted, which is where i got mine, but already wiped of OS
yep, tried many of them. no go. the screen definitely works as I’m able to navigate the bios using the touch screen. just cant get windows to talk to it.
windows doesn’t help as it will just install any goodix x64 driver weather its right or wrong. the driver installs but the firmware isn’t correct. which is why im stuck
