[Request] Unlock advanced menu on 2019 Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52

@saltinbank @Hyppo maybe I found a solution how to fix higher power usage on newer Windows 10 versions - because it’s all related to C states and CPU workload.

The things i have tried is to edit the ini files of PSENSE to enable the CPU overclocking like on the HELIOS 500/700 but i doesnt works but it gave me the MACRO settings meanwhile

sorry i have mistaken … C1 motion-demotion on

I think there is some settings in Win 1903 and 1903 which can be adjusted, smth like ECC shift etc
But I don’t know which so actually I plan to downgrade to 1809
But if you find the root cause it will be very cool

Update
On idle in windows with both fans at 1000 rpm I have temp 45-50C quite good as laptop noiseless in this mode

Look one user on helios 500 he got the OC tab for the CPU also and a working XTU up to 110W (I9 though unlocked)

Helios 500 is with AMD CPU I guess

No with also I7 9850H and 8950HK …

3000/ 3200 60C mine :[ need repasting with good thermal paste

It’s not polish (probably czech language - I’m from Poland  ).
I was trying to unlock CPU OC tab but without success.
But theoretically you could replace Helios 300 XTU profiles with those from other Acer laptops as long as they using same CPU (and some profiles are quite different).
You need to go to your system drive and then ProgramData -> OEM and will see what is going on

BTW I found what is causing my Windows 10 (2004 version also know as 20H1) to draw excessive current and cooking my CPU while it’s idling.
And answer is NVIDIA DRIVERS (seriously) - I’ve got pretty good analysis app and that’s for sure somekind of bug.

I apologize buddy na zdrowie

C:\ProgramData\OEM\PredatorSense

btw here my feature.ini : OC CPU = 1 but doesnt work i putted it to read only so Psense cant change it

PredatorSense has 3 profiles Normal, Fast and Extreme and each of them has relevant XTU profile
So you can just edit those XTU profiles and change PL and UV and PredatorSense will use them instead
Also you can adjust Gpu overclock in config file so PredatorSense will use those new settings set
But 56W is unbreakable but cooling will barely survive higher anyway

Here is how to do
https://youtu.be/bN6i_H-sj1k
And there is one trick that you need to use old version XTU 6.4.1.23 to edit profiles

Yep, NVIDIA drivers made my laptop much hotter on idle than I could suspect
After removinf those my system process fall down to 1% or less CPU usage.

If you got high cpu usage on SYSTEM process then there is something really go wrong - probably with drivers.

@Hyppo yeah i went also to YT and saw this vid …

The fact the 300 has no dedicated heatpipe for cpu and gpu here is the bottleneck …

found my perfect timing : will try Cas 17 and then stop

It has one dedicated pipe for cpu, one dedicated for gpu and one shared between cpu and gpu, 3 heat pipes in total
Your problem is with cooling assembling and you need a repaste

To understand how is bad your cooling, run aida64 stress test with all options except disk on and check your temperatures, for 20-30 min, with fans on auto

My temperatures min 81+77+77 (cpu+gpu+system) with fans at 4000+4500 rpm

But I polished my heatsink and used proper thermal paste prolimatech pk-3

I also tried liquid metal but results were worse

Reason not in apps but in system in general, for ex PredatorSense gives 10 % of cpu load and system runs cpu to 4 GHz all the time when PredatorSense is on screen, I guess frequency must be lower

Will do that buddy thank you all for the advices … Too lazy to repaste this evening

- got : Thermalright no name aka chill factor
- Noctua NT-H1
-Artic silver 5

I think the NT-H1 is better than the two other right ?!

Do not use AS5 especially on GPU where there is plenty of ultra small capacitors it could lead to short circuit and then bye bye GPU
AS5 will conduct current and it’s absolutely unsafe to use.

usually i iused GELID GC EXTREME or Kryonaut from Thermal Grizzly but no more left at home …

I used kryonaut too but results were worse than pk3 maybe coz pk3 more thin

Now my results are excellent, cpu only stress test in aida is just 69C

noctua and arctic are similar

So on idle when PredatorSense sense is minimized, with fans at 1000+1000 rpm I have 42C on cpu, very cool and absolutely noiseless

When PredatorSense is in screen it gives 10% load and temp is 55C
