[Request] Unlock advanced menu on 2019 Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52

Hi Friends,

Can someone help with this? I need to unlock the “Advanced TAB” on my Acer Predator.

The Bios version is 1.12 and can be downloaded in this link <<LINK>>

Is there a Way to do this? Acer has a tool that i can upgrade the BIOS firmware inside the Windows called “Insyde H2OFFT V6.08” that are in the link above, so the question is: Even i have a edited bios, ia can use this tool to force the upgrade inside the windows without using DOS?

OBS: My dump files are in this link bellow:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PA6Rsqx…iew?usp=sharing

Thanks to much!

@Vernnon - No, you have to do as I mentioned in the other thread.
You link above is broken, and the unbroken link in the other thread leads to a google page where you have to sign in to download, which I cannot do.
Please reupload all files to new link, and tell me what error you get at FPT step #2

Sorry @Lost_N_BIOS for my broken link, follow a new here… I did all the steps as you told:

OBS1: i did notice any error while dumping the file…

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PA6Rsqx…iew?usp=sharing

Try this thanks!

OBS2: I’ll only reply here to not pollute the other thread…

@Vernnon - Thanks for fixed link
There should never be any error when dumping BIOS (FPT Step #1), you should only possibly/probably see error at trying to write back your BIOS dump (FPT step #2)
So, need to know what error, if any, you get at #2 still

I that need to thanks you buddy

Now i got you said, i got this error when try to back the bios:

C:\Bios>FPTw.exe -bios -f biosreg.bin
Intel (R) Flash Programming Tool Version: 12.0.64.1551
Copyright (C) 2005 - 2020, Intel Corporation. All rights reserved.

Reading HSFSTS register… Flash Descriptor: Valid

— Flash Devices Found —
ID:0xEF4018 Size: 16384KB (131072Kb)

Error 167: Protected Range Registers are currently set by BIOS, preventing flash access.
Please contact the target system BIOS vendor for an option to disable
Protected Range Registers.

FPT Operation Failed.

C:\Bios>

@Vernnon - Thanks! 167 error is bad, it “May” mean you need to use flash programmer, we will see. If after vars unlock, you still get 167, then we try S3 sleep bug, if your BIOS does not have, then flash programmer will be needed
Here, lets see if unlock vars removes the 167 error. Please put this file into H20UVE_100.00.16.08 folder, then run command below, there will be long list of success/fail, then reboot.
After reboot, do FPT Spoiler step #1 & #2 again using new file name (such as biosregnew.bin), if #2 pass without error, send me new file from step #1

H2OUVE.exe -sv varsM.txt

oks let me do this now and i come back in a few minutes to post the results! Thanks!
-------------------------

@Lost_N_BIOS now i got it! i did the steps 1 and 2 without any errors, follow the new file from step 1:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1R1yB9zM…iew?usp=sharing

@Vernnon - Nice to see no more 167~
Here is your unlocked BIOS, flash it back via >> FPTw.exe -bios -f biosregnewm.bin

*** WARNING - To ANYONE with laptop and unlocked BIOS!!!
DO NOT try to enable this graphics card or disable that card, switch cards etc. Otherwise you will end up with no display output (ie black screen) and no way to recover except by blind flash or with flash programmer.
You can change graphics related settings, like changing memory sizes, or core speeds etc, just don’t try to disable one card or change which is main etc.

Additionally, be very careful when trying to undervolt CPU, you can leave BIOS unbootable due to CPU voltage too low (Sometimes even 0.05 is too much)

WARNING *** - This BIOS is user specific! If you are not user Vernnon! at Win-RAID.com forum, DO NOT USE THIS BIOS!!
If you do, and you are not Vernnon!, then you will loose your serial, UUID, OG NVRAM, and possibly LAN MAC ID as well.
You have been warned!!!

My friend, thanks a lot for your job, now i see advanced TAB in my BIOS!!! I don’t know what trick you did, but YOU ARE THE GUY!

i’m sending a PM to you now, read when you can!

@Vernnon - You’re welcome! Do you not also see “Power” section too now? If not, maybe need to do the edit a little differently
Thanks, I will check PM

Man sorry my late response. No, the Power sessions is not appearing to me, you think we can enable that?

@Kirby207 - I see I have an empty folder for you on this model from May, sorry I may have lost this thread and forgot to reply back to you back then, do you still need help/unlock on this?

@DeadXT - Sorry for the delay, lost this page for a second!

Yes, here, changes as noted below - http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…837247596596021
Some settings that are hidden now, I did not touch, but these kind are only hidden when something above them is disabled, then become visible when that item enabled (such as Platform PL1 Power/Time Window, only visible once Platform PL1 enabled)

Root of “Power & Performance” >> Added >> Intel(R) Speed Shift Technology Interrupt Control

Inside >> CPU - Power Management Control >> Added >>
Intel(R) Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0
Intel(R) Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 Driver (these two << ^^ may be CPU dependent, ie should remain hidden due to your CPU may not support?)

** Here, you did not scroll to bottom of CPU Power Management Control, so I cannot see what you have visible/hidden past what you showed

Config TDP Configurations >> Added >>
Configurable TDP Boot Mode (missing one added, since I could not tell which two you had visible, I unsupressed all three)
Actually, scratch above. I hid the two that was there, replacing both with third single hidden one that contains all 4 setting options at once instead (Nominal/Down/Up/Deactivated)
So,you should only see one “Configurable TDP Boot Mode” setting now, with the four values, instead of dupe with 3 each

** Here, block of options (x4 settings) hidden when >> Configurable TDP Lock = Disabled.
Also, some settings shown here will vary based on which value is applied at >> Configurable TDP Boot Mode - Nominal/Down/Up/Deactivated

----------------------------

@Vernnon - Merged your thread over here
Confirmed w/ you about your comment above, there was some confusion about Power section maybe, it’s there (for anyone wondering how this model variant unlocked later on, all good )

Sorry for awnsering lately : in CPU Z i got blck @ max 99.76 i have tried to play with the spread spectrum feature (wich is lowering the blck BTW) but no way every time i do a little minor tweak on this setting PC crash at bootup …
I want @ least to run 100 mhz like it should (with this Spread Spectrum useless settings remember "the diesel" gate in germany) …
So i was asking how this modder can access and modify the bios to overpass the limitation of locked ratio in intel chips (the fact he has suceed to do so) …
He is running 103 mhz BCLK and no matter i have played with the bios you offered me i cant find a setting doing the trick ? iam missing something ? spread speactrum off is the only way to go ?
And i was asking also there is so minor differences between an 9750H and a 9850H (but the 98xx has partial unlocked on the turbo) can we try to mod the 97xx in a 98xx …
thanks Lost BTW as Always …

@saltinbank - For Spread Spectrum, if it’s possible to work to narrow Bclk range more closer to 100 exactly, do this by editing ME FW setting directly not BIOS, lower spread amount or disable spread.
It’s more of a pain, or not possible now in some ME FW, maybe V12 onwards, not sure what ME FW is in these BIOS (not looking at a BIOS right now) But if you have programmer, and or have unlocked FD previously, dump ME FW with FPT or programmer, then edit, then flash back.
I’m not sure if ME FW update tool will flash in such a change, and I’m not sure if part of those changes may go into FD too (I know HAP Bit Disable does). So hopefully you have programmer so you can just dump BIOS, edit BIOS as a whole with FITc, then program back

Someone (Vernnon!) maybe sent you PM, he was wanting to know about flashing other vBIOS to his system like you did
Can you drop some info/details about that, did you have to edit anything in the vBIOS such as ID or left it as-is? Did you find any better vBIOS?
He linked me to one in PM at TPU, maybe one you initially discussed here, but maybe you find other better later?

You’re welcome! If you need me to look at this in ME FW later, let me know. If yes, tell me if you have unlocked FD, or programmer too.

@saltinbank , i’m sending to you a PM with some doubst about RTX2060 reflash, tks bro!

@saltinbank

Thanks for the instructions, i did here and take a look of mine, the the device ID didn’t change. In yellow are the changes, in blue you can see that the device ID is the same:

I can still using predator sense withou any problem, because of the same hardware ID.

@Lost_N_BIOS finally i done and this was a big suprise to me, seems to be the original…

@vernnon
Sorry lot of work these past months …
Vernnon you got my PM : proceed and give me your feelings back go back the thread and look for the procedure to flash under windows with NV flash : Dont forget to disable in the devices manager the Dgpu (Discrete one) and leave only the Igpu On (aka intel 630/620 iris) - MAKE A BACKUP OF THE STOCK VBIOS !!! AND DONT FORGET that even with the (dash) -6 parameter on NVFLASH.EXE the software will ask you to change the ID of the PCI EXPRESS device no matter what : you should do it ID - Asus one not Acer one so force the ID !!! Keep it in mind

Iam here if you need some help buddy
Godspeed !

@Lost : thanks you buddy as always your skills are appreciated : will do and try thanks for your support take care !

Vernnon the DEVICE ID WONT CHANGE : it is ok ! but in your device manager go look under the tab GFX go properties on the RTX 2060 mobile and go on the last TAB you should see thad ID from PCI EXPRESS device has changed

Glad it work for you as i said between 7% -10% with ease  and dont forget to download MSI AB and tweak the memory : 2XXX series have better performance with GDDR5X-6 overclocking than GPU overclocking : mine is running 7900 mhz (7000 stock) so it is +900 is AB - Huge bandwith increase :=)

hummm i got it now, saw HW iD changes…

Tks about the advises, before do all the procedure i did a backup (only me and @Lost_N_BIOS know what i’ve pass through las week ahahahahah)…

i use the turbo mode on "predator sense" it’s improve more the GPU, but i’ll stay only the base clocks after gpu firmware upgrade and gone not overclock the memorys (i not crazy by performance like you ahahahaha), the perfomance is enough to me now…

PS: Please, ignore my last PM (i did a little mistake and got you said some time later…)

Hi, @Lost_N_BIOS could you help me please? I ordered 2x16gb ddr4 rams with CL15 but they appear as 19CL in my laptop. It’s an Acer predator helios 300 2019 (PH315-52) with bios 1.12, bios download is on acer site, i can’t upload link, just insert this if needed “92002308426” SNID
Attached biosreg file from 1# step and error file from 2# step. I read previous posts and maybe i have same laptop with Vernnon, anyway, if we proceed and flash bios will i be able to run at CL15?
