[Request] Working BIOS Dump for ASRock Z87 OC Formula

Hi everyone,

My motherboard has encountered an BIOS boot freeze issue, and I need a BIOS dump from a fully working Z87OCF system.

If anyone has:

  • A verified BIOS dump from a functioning Z87 OC Formula board

  • Preferably dumped via hardware SPI programmer (not extracted via AFU)

  • Based on any official version (e.g., 1.80, 1.90, 2.20, etc.)

I’d greatly appreciate it if you could share it or point me to a trusted archive

Thanks in advance for any help or leads!

No you dont, the board can be re-programmed with the latest available bios file on ASRock support model, the images are fully regions expanded structure, all you need is to remove the CAPsule header.

I did remove the CAPsule header of the BIOS, otherwise the BIOS image file size is too large for the BIOS chip. However, the rebuilt BIOS would boot up but no display.
That’s why I need a working copy that extracted from a working Z87 OC Formula board. Thanks.

And what data, was that “rebuild” part?

I mean that I remove the CAPsule header of the BIOS, and flash the BIOS image with CH341A, as a result, it can not boot up normally

You’re sure of this… a bios corruption?..
Very strange the flashed image didn’t work…
May i ask if after programmed, its was dumped and compared to data source?
Have you try other program apps besides the one used witch i dont know nothing about it…

I know it sounds strange. But after that I also chat with Copilot and Gemini to work out a working BIOS.

I ever replacing ME Region, BIOS Region and Hex editing…and so on, but nothing works.

I did not compared with data souce, But I also ask ASRock tech support for help, but they provide poor service and only gave the same BIOS image with CAPsule header removed.

It is not related to what programmer I used, I have tried Neoprogrammer and CH341A programmer.

Oh i see…your an AI man on fixing firmware on death boards, good for you stick with them all then.

And yes… the ASRock support did more than deserved on a remote firmware request on product out of warranty, and as you can see… the same solution, so to “dig” deeper in diagnosing the board issue…your AI “buddies” will take care of you, good luck, all the best.
