[Searching for] Asock Z370 Taichi or Pro4 BIOS 1.0x

Yes, good eye, thanks, I meant to use Z370 So… yes, I was looking at the AMD replies due to X370 Funny to see same issue there with AMD Too, I guess they both just need to bring back FSB and be done with it

I unfortunately have bad news.

In the forum link posted, the 8400 was in fact just being simulated by disabling cores on an 8700K. Intel ME blocks anything above 102.7MHz BCLK on non-K SKUs, so even if we did have this BIOS, we won’t be able to BCLK OC any locked chips.

I wonder if disabling ME would help, but at this point, someone should have worked that out by now.

Edit: Oh, didn’t see that someone had already found that out. But yes, the TL;DR is that non-K Coffee Lake is hard limited to 102.7MHz BCLK.

Indeed bad news!
However, thanks guys for the effort, that you put into finding the details.
I guess the hope is over now, then. :frowning:

depends on hardware, this 8500 was rockstable up to 102.9 but failed to post at 103.

ME FW Pro should be able to find the byte we need to edit, but I guess maybe it’s harder than it sounds since no one has found yet

I know it’s been months, bumping this up just to see if anyone had made progress with ME FW pro?

Why is the limit for some 102.7 and others hit 103?
Is it definately a limit in the ME or is it via microcode?

Would like to narrow it down.
