As lfb6 states in Post#11, get the ME raw and swap it on your dump.
UEFItool_NE for extraction, the regular 0.28 for merge/swap or an HEX editor.
The problem i have right now is, i cannot find the new 8mb dump for the 8mb bios chip, in the BIOS image from the asus website, the numbers posted in #11 doesnt coordinate with the numbers in the new version bios, and i am completely out of depth on how to locate it. (This is first time doing this, i just thinks its a waste if i dont get it working again)
Long time ago now, but if i remember correctly the situation is as follows:
- ME and BIOS are on separate chips.(Think the BIOS were on the 16mb one and the ME was on the 8mb one).
- Download a fresh bios, extract the 8mb ME section
- Flash the BIOS chip with the fresh BIOS
- Flash the ME Chip with the extracted 8mb ME section
I think the fresh BIOS i downloaded is this one: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/BIOS/ROG-STRIX-Z490-H-GAMING-ASUS-2301.ZIP , so i would just download that instead of the newest one, then you can probably update to a newer BIOS later.
Careful, the main SPI bios IC should not be erased/overwriten without a full reading backup for original board data safekeep.
It can be transfered into an Asus update file with FD44editor.
EDIT: Look again, cause its there, i just verified this in new bios file 3201.
GUID 63F23E9D-5FDA-415E-9C2A-64C4E2A6ECE8
EDIT: Sir… do please read what is told to, else there’s no learning, this your task and your time, not others.
Who has no time or skills, give the task to a tech support IT professional, they also need food on their table.
Nothing more to add or teaching here, good luck.
??? Every file i extract from there is either 1024 or 500kb’ish.
When i extract 63F23E9D-5FDA-415E-9C2A-64C4E2A6ECE8 it shows up as 1.7kb
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
As i said its my first time with this, i have to learn somehow. I had no idea you had to extract the raw section and not the GUI number, as stated in #11. Its my bad.
Much love
IF ANYONE STUMBLES UPON THIS LIKE ME.
Can confirm, after extracting new FD/ME bin dump from bios version 3201(Z490-f) directly from asus like in #Meatwars post with uefitool and overwriting the 8mb chip physically with a ch341a ,here 5 min later, pc is now fully operational after been COMPLETELY dead. Again thank you so much!
