I was hoping someone here could extract the .hdr and .rom files from this bios, my laptop got unplugged during a bios update and now i can’t get into bios recovery, bios, or boot options. But i believe i can put those files in a flash drive and force boot into the bios with those files to fix the corrupted ones. Thanks for any help!
The bios is for the Dell G5 SE 5505 bios version 1.4.4
Sadly i can’t link to bios because i just made my account.
@LaoTzu
Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
Since you can find answers to your request within this already existing thread, I have moved your post into it.
Good luck!

On the first page it says to use the Python 2 script to extract one of the files i need but how do i use it to extract the file?
How do I use the python script to extract the HDR file from the bios update file?
I am interested in this process for a HP bios executable file. I would be interested in taking the rom out of that EXE installer so that I could just mod the bios and flash it via USB programmer.
@BobbyBadBoy
It would help to know the machine model and bios link, as there’s multiple bios from HP that uses different tools/methods
Even so… how about a bit of search in the forum for similar operations on HP bios files… the search box on top right corner?

@toti
Hey buddy… you have been helped by lfb6 on this subject, so what is your goal here with a new "innocent" request, there no miracles here, he can help and solve it or not, period.
@toti no, I am new to this process too. I am new to this forum.
@meatwar I just wanted to make sure I understood if the thread is trying to do what I was interested in. I am new to this stuff. No sarcasm necessary. Are you a moderator? Or just a cybernetic forum-dwelling nay-sayer? I clicked on your name to check if you are a Moderator and I see all these posts from you. You are basically just telling everybody to fuck off, and then you have the nerve to put a PayPal link under your name… LOL. I was not sure if you are joking or trolling or something?
@Fernando
Is this allowed? Can I put a donation link for myself under my name too? Just wondering.
@BobbyBadBoy

There are several different ways and tools to extract a Dell bios, they all work as intended. Do you really expect us to read the whole thread again to find out if all tools are mentioned in this very thread?
MeatWar has a point here: All the tools are mentioned in the forum and possibly in this thread- a little search would’ve been a good idea to solve your problem. Second best solution would’ve been to provide us with the relevant information- as far as I can see you still don’t have.
@toti No need to hijack this thread. All relevant information was given to you here.
Hello could you possibly extract this bios for me? (Its in the text file for some reason it wont let me send the link in chat)
bios link.txt (55 Bytes)
LaoTzu: Run the exe, don’t click on any messages, go into the temp folder of the administrative account used to open the exe, change into just created folder (names starts with 7z…), there’s a file isflash.bin.

Could you possibly extract this bios for me? https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER06646482M/1/G5…_5505_1.4.4.exe
I believe the extraction in the past comments does not work the same way for the UEFI bios EXE files.
I tried the PFSextractor and it did not work. Neither the CMD /writehdrfile /writeromfile commands work.
@Lost_N_BIOS or anyone really can you help us here understand what are we missing?
Dell has not one type, there are several types. In addition som updates contain a complete firmware image, some a bios region, some bios regions, other firmware and ME update file, some unpack a binary with the firmware or bios ‘packed’ in. You have just to try the different methods…
hi. My desktop Dell Inspiron 3647, right here I want to get a bios file Inspiron_3647_3847_A11.exe, but whatever reason /writeromfile in cmd it didn’t work. I also try Dell PFS Extractor it said It Is Not Bios Image or something. I Think Guess is it CPG BIOS Executable from Dell, or not seriously?? I have no idea what’s the next step I need to do…
Hello, can anyone help me with bios extract for:
Motherboard: DAM00 LA-F541P 2018-03-28 REV:2.0(A01)
DELL XPS 15 9570
I manage to extract files from exe with Dell_PFS_Extract_v3.2 but doesn’t know how to merge it in valid bios image bin file
