so i tried to read my bios chip for the t440p (20AW) i have with my ch341a programmer that is 3.3v default with the clip it came with but the terminal said it couldn’t recognize it, so i switched to the pomona 5250 with the cables it came with and did read this time so i made two .img files and apparently the binaries are different, the clip itself is fine and i have some newer cables on the way as the ones i have are used, i would really appreciate it if anyone had a bios dump for it.
You need to read and post both ICs dumps (4+8Mb), STAG and SN and what’s the purpose/cause/issue to such action.
These dumps will have the original system data and for sure you dont want to lose that original Lenovo system data of your system, will you?
You program a blank image and it’s all lost.
A similar case that can be useful on guidance
i have not read the 8mb chip only the 4mb chip and i have made two copies in which both binaries are different. also cant i just get a bios dump and flash it like that? the bios is clearly corrupted for this chip
First of all…no one is giving an image without system data erased if they dont know how to clear it, as it’s their own data right?
I ask for the cause / issue of the system…
The 4Mb file is only half of the firmware, no ME FW region present that could be also corrupted and you maybe your issue…cause you really dont know or explain what is the issue of your system.
well i tried to flash coreboot on it because i found it in my garage (might as well right?) and i tried to use the clip that came with my ch341a programmer but it said it couldn’t detect the chip even though the clip was indeed on there and aligned with the dot on the 4mb chip, i have not put the clip to the 8mb to my knowledge and i dont want to potentially corrupt it too so im just waiting on some newer wires for the pomona clip.
