You got microcode for six- and quadcore CFL (though old one for the latter), but whether it works at all with CFL depends on a number of other factors as well.
I think no one has yet achieved non-K OC with CFL. The old IMEs without “shutdown at more than 103 MHz” routine don’t even support KBL. So you need CFL K sku for BCLK overclock, but obviously K sku can be overclocked a lot easier via multiplier.
no sorry you’re wrong
skylake non-K processors can be BCLK overclocked
? Sorry, I thought we were talking about CFL/8series. SKL non-K can obviously BCLK oc. But you need IME from 2015 to do this. Afaik CFL won’t run on IME that old. So one cannot have a UEFI that can do both non-K OC AND 8series.
oh thanks that makes sense
can you point me in the right direction for the IME from 2015?
I think it is not available separtely and IME downgrades require some tinkering anyway (there is a guide around somewhere here), but you will find it in any UEFI old enough to still allow non-K OC
Not sure when Asus introduced support, but Nov15-Jan16 releases are worth trying. Or try finding a non-K oc thread specific for your board. Having a 6700K I did not keep detailed track myself. Compared to CFL-mods non-K is at least easy to test - flash UEFI, check whether IME has actually changed, insert non-K skylake, set BCLK to 105 Mhz. If it works you find the correct UEFI.

close all mmtool window when you start use, if mmtool hang, click mmtool window then press ESC.
I get this error on an Asus Z170 Deluxe:

I use xxd check extracted body 4 octets,if SSDT or DSDT then decode, seems errors happened here.
try place tool and bios file in a short name directory.
Tried with just D:\a\ dir name, same issues…

hi.
why needs connecting bridge for i5 8400?
Thanks, so this is not for 8700k, right?
Thanks, so this is not for 8700k, right?
support 8700k,should test with ht enable.
because of SKTOCC# pin define change between 1151v1 and 1151v2
so i managed to modify Z270-A Prime with this tool without any issues and than flashed PRIME-Z270-A-ASUS-1302.pcie.67ABC.sku370.htfix.ACPI.bin from DOS via AFUDOS.exe
is there any way how to find inside system that my Z270 chipset is now reporting Z370?
do i need to do pin masking on this motherboard or it will work just fine? (im still on i7-7700k)
Thanks
You can make a dump of the active UEFI and check whether it reports “Z370” or different (CoffeeTime should have both functions integrated, but you can also use Intel FIT&FPT by yourself). However trying to boot with “Z270” won’t cause any harm (system will switch off after a few seconds), so you can simply try as well.
afudos can not flash descriptor area, you should flash via spi programmer.
too late i dont care about mac address or ID of motherboard
is there anything else broken by not flashing via SPI? (i can problably go and buy some flasher from ebay for few bucks)
@oneb1t - it’s not about breaking something, it’s about if you don’t flash with SPI programmer (or pinmod/otherwise unlock the FD and reflash) it’s not going to work
Could you expand on that? Same board as oneb1t and was thinking about trying this.
My understanding was i could throw together a correct BIOS, flash the BIOS through the BIOS provided tools, isolate/connect pins, profit?
