You can’t flash Mod bios with officeial tool (under bios) even restore format to CAP,can’t pass secure check.
use spi programmer is recommend. [GUIDE] The Beginners Guide to Using a CH341A SPI Programmer/Flasher (With Pictures!)
so the ASUSTeK_PRIME_Z270-A_1009.U0P0.HT.ACPI.678ABC.bin is correct just flashing it will be harder because i cant use the official bios flashing tool.
i just need to but the spi programmer and follow the steps in that guide to flash it properly.
is there a way i can try to change it back to cap and just try to see if itll pass a secure check? or do i need to change it to a cap anyway before doing the spi programmer
I got this ASRock_B250_Gaming_K4_B25GK42.CON117.PCIE.678ABC.bin generated BIOS, can i flash this via official updater in current bios? Is it still support Kabylake after that. Thank you!
@c0mmanderX : Current Coffee Time should offer to export as .cap, alternatively you can use UEFITool to copy the actual UEFI block in the .bin file into the capsule of any .cap. (coffee time is easier, the other method must have been described half a dozen times by me in this and the neighbouring thread if you are still interested)
However as revlaay said: Software tools will not flash modified file and Z270-A does not have hardware based flashback. Even ROG or Prime Deluxe boards which usually/sometimes do have hardware flasher onboard often requiering additional hardware or individual mods for unlock first.
So I just gotta remod the bios in coffeetime to .cap then get the flashing kit and follow the steps there. Where is the coffeetime thread/post?
There is no dedicated thread, but svarmod can be usually found here [GUIDE] Coffee Lake CPUs on Skylake and Kaby Lake motherboards and almost no one does still use the manual methods described before revlaays tool and CoffeeTime made everything so much easier.
Just to make things more confusing, you will need .bin/.rom to flash with CH134A, not .cap
Ok thats not more confusing that’s auctually way easier if my .bin bois I made with the allinone.exe will work then and I just need to get a flasher. I also found his discord server as well when I found the download for coffeetime.
I assume this will work as well? Has a much faster ship time then the Ebay link

The easiest way to mod your current bios is to downgrade your current one with the proper bios. Dumb your downgraded current bios to a backup.bin using FPT. Mod the backup.bin and re-program it using a CH431a. This way you won’t lose your MAC, UUID, MBSN or worry about having to transfer it.
You can get FPT from here: Intel Management Engine: Drivers, Firmware & System Tools
The tool you linked will work and it’s the same one I used.
Figured out what is going on with my low vid values. Basically to be able to properly set a certain voltage in bios and have some consistency
you need four things:
1. Have to set CPU Core ratio above 45X with all cores synced (as anything below 46X resulted in low vid and vcore values)
2. Must use Adaptive Vcore setting in Bios and set the Adaptive Turbo voltage value to your desired vcore
3. Have to manually configure AC LL (0.8-1.0 worked for me) and set DC LL to 'AUTO’
4. Have the Sync-all-Cores patch enabled
Now have consistent matching vcore vid values in bios and in Windows reported by CPU-Z or CoreTemp, or HwInfo.
rename bios name to "B25GK42.CON117.PCIE.678ABC.bin", put into USB drive(fat32).
If your me version above 11.7,you should follow this guide [Guide] Unlock Intel Flash Descriptor Read/Write Access Permissions for SPI Servicing (E6 section),after reboot then press del key into bios,in adv mode, check chipest menu,me version is 0.0.0.0,then use instant flash to upgrade.
kabylake cpu still support.

Anyone know if I want to put my 6700k back in there will the modded bios still work with an older gen cpu?
@davidm71 - if microcode for the older CPU is in there it should work, if it’s not in there anymore, add it back and fix the FIT table
@onlylove2511 - same reply as above, in regards to your question about old G3930 CPU
@revlaay - ^^ Adding to above, why don’t you put each new update change log (if you want to include) into the first post with an update link for new version each time, so it’s easy to find latest version? Sorry about that revlaay, got the threads confused and was thinking svarmod has his own thread too for his tool.
Like now, I see above comment, and I have to go find a download link for this version by randomly looking backwards into the thread.
