I have 1 more question regarding CPU-Z Mainboard check. I still see the Chipset as Kaby Lake after flashing, do I have to put a Coffee chip to the motherboard to change it or I just simply failed to mod?
-I generated modded rom successfully.
-I have no problem when flashing modded rom with afudos (with a normal USB).
To make sure the modded rom installed, I modded Coffee Lake into a newer rom and install it on current old rom, rom version and date changed to the new one.
Chipsets donât change even after modding.
Has anyone been successful with msi boards? Specifically h270 tomahawk arctic ?
Worked like a charm with my asrock z170
But a friend is keen to try it out
Just getting some info
This is all way beyond my scope of things im comfortable doing. Is there anyone who would be interested in modding a bios for me? I Have an asus maximus IX formula and i have an i5 8600 cpu that id like to run in it just to see if it works but im not savvy enough to do all the modding. If someone ould mod it for me, send it to me and tell me exactly the steps to flashit to the bios i would be willing to do it
if so please private message me thanks
please help
Hey mate I too was worried
But the AIO is literally a press of a button
Then the instructions are way over complicated then. You think you could clarify them for me please? Just a simple step by step of what to do? The way they have it written now looks like there is 5 or 6 steps plus programming eprom ect
Thanks for the reply. I do appreciate it Iâm literally brand new to this forum
Download the AIO program
Extract it
Double click the AIO program
Locate your bios version that you have downloaded from the official website
Then youâre prompted to choose which CPU youâre going to be using
And it does the rest
Put it on usb and flash it like you would any other bios
Thanks a bunch. Yeah that doesnât sound hard at all. Just curious do I need to block any pins or join any together?
Depends which cpu you want to use
I5 8600, sorry, I thought I had mentioned this earlier⌠I really appreciate your input. Iâm really anticipating this endeavor. Really disappointed in Intel regarding this blatant outright thievery. Taking full advantage of their customers after totally ripping them off for years to begin with all because they had no competition in the marketplace. A person like myself I had to save for months to afford my motherboard and just got lucky to end up with an 8th gen CPU only to be told my MB canât run it
Yes youâll need to do block pins based on the image on page one
Very simple to do
Connect the two pins using pencil
And isolate the other pins using tape
Is there a better more permanent solution I can use other than tape and pencil? I have soldering iron also access to epoxy or something similar or if there is anything recommended I can go purchase I will get whatever I need to do a better more professional job
No idea mate, youâre gonna have to ask the pros when it comes to that
Thank you for all your valuable information. I am hoping to be able to get this done in the next day or so time permitting. Iâll update you when I make some progress⌠thanks again
Does this tool work without any problem with gigabyte z170 gaming k3? I mean gigabyte z170 motherboards in general?
I used the tool and it created a bios filename âGigabyte_Z170-Gaming_K3-CF_F23f.CON117.PCIE.U0P0.HT.ACPI.67ABCD.binâ, the original bios from gigabyte website filename is âZ170GK3.23fâ, Do I keep the âGigabyte_Z170-Gaming_K3-CF_F23f.CON117.PCIE.U0P0.HT.ACPI.67ABCD.binâ filename or rename it to âZ170GK3.23fâ? Do I flash like I used to? saving into a usb flash device and then going into the motherboard bios and update it using the gigabyte q-flash utility? https://www.gigabyte.com/webpage/20/HowToReflashBIOS.html
Also I have another question, I used the option 2 below.
1. B0 G4900,G5500,G5600,8100,8300,8350[K,T]
2. U0 G5400,8400-8700[T,K],9100-9600[T,F]
P0-R0 9600K,9700-9900[K,F]
So I guess only cpus âU0 G5400,8400-8700[T,K],9100-9600[T,F] P0-R0 9600K,9700-9900[K,F]â will work, will old cpus like celeron 3900 or 6700k still keep working?
Edit: I will answer some of my question in case it can help others here trying the same approach.
First of all everything is pretty straight forward, the AllinOne.exe application does everything for you, you just need to drag the bios file to it and wait till it does everything for you, after that, it will create the bios that will need to be flashed via MSDOS, I tried q-flash and it said invalid bios, so it needs to be via MSDOS, here is a guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kV98J7Qmts in case somebody needs it, to boot to MSDOS and flash the bios.bin from there.
Second, my celeron 3900 still worked without any problems, so i guess the 6500, 6600,6700 will all work without any problems, as I chose the option 2, I need now to try using a coffee lake cpu. I will update my tests as soon as i get any.
Anyway, so far everything worked pretty good, I thank all the people involved in this, Itâs an amazing tool. Whoever made this should have some form of donation, many people would glad donate, bitcoin or ethereum address.
all right
thatâs MOD ,Good!
Can core i3 9100f CPU work on gigabyte H110 DS2 mainboad with this tool? Sorry if my English is not good.
Got the bios installed correctly but I am still waiting patiently for another price drop on 9900k before order.
With the current CPU, I am happy to report that everything work fine but still have problem with Aura Sync. This might be unrelated but I would love to try the port-bios Version 2401 from Z370F as well if you have time to do it. (no rush)
In the mean time, I am trying to fix my Aura sync and found out that I might need to update Intel ME. I read somewhere but not sure if that will affect the compatibility of this whole Coffee Lake modding. If anyone can point me to any forum to read more about upgrading/downgrading Intel ME, that would be nice.
update: I found out couple article pointing at 11.7 is the newest version of Intel ME you can updated to. Now my question is whether I can update it to latest after successfully flash the mod bios? Does the newer Intel ME block the microcode adding? In that case, we can all updated to the new Intel ME once the Coffee Lake CPU is working, correct? Otherwise, we might need to add some instruction on how to block the Intel ME update on the Windows Update as well. IMO
Hi. i am new. thanks for the tool. it worked for Gigabyte H110M-H motherboard and i5 9400f cpu.
this is what worked for me.
1- executed Allinone.exe (618 update), selected the latest bios from gigabyte page. they give me the modified bios with no errors in the automated procedure.
2- and then i created a bootable usb disk MSDOS with rufus. copied to the usb fpt flash tool, autoexec.bat and the modified bios renamed to âbios.binâ. rebooted sistem from usb and flashed, Ok.
3- isolated pins in the i5 9400F from this picture, following the gigabyte colors reference https://2ch.hk/hw/src/3527903/15538858521071.png
now i want to mod Asus PRIME Z270-K, with the stock bios version 1207, modified with AIO.exe, AFUDOS tool for flashing and i tried many posible combination of pin mods (isolated pins with tape and connect with pencil HB2) i found and i cant to make it work. the fans turn on and shutdown in 1 second.
the intel ME firmware dont changed in bios after flashed. its still in 11.8.50.3470. its correct? (i understand the AIO tool downgrade to ME version 11.7.xxx automatically). Maybe something i does it was wrong?
any help i will apreciate. thanks again great work!
