[TOOL] Easy automated Mod tool for Coffee Lake bios

Get that type of paint that is used to repair broken defroster stripes in car windows. Apply with a tooth pick.

So after some trial and error got the bios flashed on the Maximus 9 extream, swapped in the 9700k and it didnā€™t even try and boot. Will need Todo pin mod. I have some solder paste on the way and kapton tape as well. Also needed more fittings for water cooling so it worked out.

Are these products good for what I need or should I look into something else?

@TechNaOkami - You may be able to find info in Google for SKTOCC mod for that board, especially if you can find a boardview file or schematic (Boardview would be better).
Then you wouldnā€™t need to connect pins on the CPU. Maybe @chinobino @Svarmod @Revlaay @_haru have image or link for you?

On the kapton tape, thatā€™s personal preference, you may have better luck with thinner width, cutting to size in strips, vs trying to cut out of huge width tape, plus is cheaper to get less wide tape.
For the pin connect, if you donā€™t want to do with solder iron or solder and hot air, that paste will work but you can probably also find smaller amount of that too. If you were going to hot air that into place, you can do same with regular solder (practice on something dead, you will see itā€™s easy to do)
But really, best to do the SKTOCC mod to the board so you donā€™t have to mod the CPU, or use defroster tape repair kit (conductive epoxy), or copper tap, as mentioned above, like this - https://www.amazon.com/Conductive-Copperā€¦s/dp/B0827QM8GD

Whats SKTOCC? ive been combing through the forum but havenā€™t seen it much till i started googling it.

Iā€™m new here on the forum and I tried to modify the Gigabyte Bios ga-h110m-h to use the i3 9100f, but an error appears in the middle of the procedure.

"Ready Update GOP & VBIOSā€¦
VBIOS ver:File canā€™t be opened.
error happenā€¦"

When this error appears, the BPM.exe program opens and the following error message appears:

"Line 249 (File 'ā€¦\2019.1229\Coffee_Lake_Mod_Tool_\bin\ssf.exe)
Error: Array variable has incorrect number of subscripts or subscript dimension range exceeded"

This is what appears in the program ā€˜Allinone.exeā€™:

I tried to use the F23 and F24 versions of the Gigabyte bios. Attempts were made using the program in the folder "2019.2229" and "update.618".

I hope someone can help me, I thank you for your attention.

Update:

I was able to do the whole procedure without problems, after moving the files from the folder "2019.1229" to the folder where the F24 bios is located.

Below is the log for "Allinone.exe":

A doubt. After this procedure will the bios still support Kaby Lake or Sky Lake?

thank you

finally msi b250m pro + 9400f U0 succesfully boot and work 100%

I5 9400f.jpg

Thank you again
With this tool succes boot with i5 9600k (still using msi b250m pro vh)

Hey guys, I just used the tool for my maximus gene VIII board with the asus flashback feature. I just renamed the bin file to m8g.cap and flashed it. The blue led blinked for around 3 minutes & the computer shut off but the led was still on when it turned off, I donā€™t know if it was succesful or not. I want to flash the bios before I buy a cpu, how can I check if the bios was updated? Also can I use liquid metal for connecting the cpu pins? I have liquid metal from my skylake delid at home. Thanks in advance.

Thank, itā€™s work with Asrock Z270 Extreme 4. (Need E6 method of plutomaniacā€™s [Guide] Unlock Intel Flash Descriptor Read/Write Access Permissions for SPI Servicing before Flash bios)
ā€œsetup_var 0x68F 0x01ā€ for who donā€™t have time.

Socket Occupied (SKT_OCC), it lets BIOS know CPU is installed. Some boards this is already done, some you need to do with resistor, or wire shorting this landing pad to ground (but you need schematic or boardview to find this, if not labelled on your board)
If you do this, or itā€™s already done on your board by default, then you do not need to connect two pads on CPU. You can test if itā€™s already done by doing everything else, flash all BIOS regions with mod BIOS, isolate all pins you need for your board, then try to start system.
If nothing happens (SKT Not OCC, thus nothing there to start board), then you need to do this mod or connect the two pads on CPU.

@davidtheking - Sounds like normal USB Flashback function to me So you should be good to go with old CPU, provided mod BIOS was OK. To use new CPU you will need to do pinmod or get flash programmer, to write FD/ME region of the mod BIOS in

@sroberto - No, do not flash that BIOS, many things are wrong there. What SSPEC is your CPU? B0 (SRF7W) or U0 (QRJT, SRF6N), look on top of CPU.
Then I will make BIOS for you. Also, what is your older CPU?

Why is the size of RAM only limited to 16GB?
Is there another way to make RAM more than 16GB?

succes after choose different bios

thank you

@Lost_N_BIOS Thank you for your help. My current CPU is a Pentium G4560, the CPU I want to use is an i3 9100f SRF6N, that is, U0. My motherboard is GA-H110M-H with BIOS F24.

This video was with the attempt I made to change the bios with Allinone.exe.: https://youtu.be/3GHLF4nUfn4

Comments:
1 - In the error window I clicked repeat.
2 - Where there is ā€œfoi inesperado nesse momentoā€ that say "was unexpected at this point."
3 - Where there is ā€œJĆ” existe uma subpasta ou arquivo tpm.ā€ that say "There is already a subfolder or tpm file."

One question, is it still necessary to isolate the processor pins, since in this case it is U0?

@sroberto be careful as Gigabyte H110 are not recommended for this mod.

@elisw Okay, thanks for the warning. I saw that some people did with this plate model and it worked, so Iā€™m trying to do it.

@Lost_N_BIOS Regarding BiosMod, for some reason I managed to make Allinone.exe work without any error message this time.

Allinone.exe log:

I used msi z370 and installed g4500.

The problem is when using biosmod, the memory speed is only a maximum of 2400 despite using i5 9600k. But when I use the original bios msi z370 and i5 9600k, it can boot at 3600mhz ram speed.

does it have anything to do with intel ME?

@hasandoel2 Non-functioning XMP and inability to overclock RAM is common when running Skylake or Kaby Lake on Z370 as I posted here;

What kind of material can I use to connect the processor pins without damaging it? I mean, so that I can later reuse it on another motherboard.

Double-side copper tape, solder >> you can desolder/wipe it off later if needed

@Lost_N_BIOS OK thank you. A few posts ago I saw that the correct isolation model for CPUs on Gigabyte motherboards is as shown in the figure below, is this right?
