TPM 2.0 on GA-X79-UP4 rev 1.1

Hello friends,

I have a GA-X79-UP4 motherboard. It has a in-build TPM header.

I bought a TPM 2.0 module from eBay with same pin-outs but it didn’t work!
I checked the pin-outs from the motherboard manual and eBay listing details.
I think the BIOS supports TPM 1.x modules only.

Is it possible to mod the BIOS to support the TPM 2.0 module also?

Officialy by default only supports 1.2
Ask on Gigabyte support or forums, they have attended to a few models requests from users.
More on 8/9 Series…but you could be a lucky one if they provided a bios for the X79 generation.

I did ask GIGABYTE esupport, however, I got this repsonse:

“This motherboard model is too old and not supported with BIOS maintainence / update / modifications. Sorry.”
