I’m currently using an Asus Rampage IV Extreme, BIOS revision 4901 (BIOS mode) - which contains the Intel v3.5 OROM.
Current arrays:
Raid 0: 2x Samsung 840 PRO SSD
Raid 5: 3x WD RE 4TB
The matching version 3.5 drivers do not support TRIM through RAID. I am able to install v3.8 drivers which do support TRIM through RAID and tests working on the system, but introduces an issue where occasionally my raid 5 is “lost” and then needs to be repaired, maybe every 10 boots or so. (The raid 5 fails to show in the OROM at all on any reboot, but shows normally during a cold boot - usually it starts okay regardless, but occasionally it goes into “rebuilding”.)
I’d like to update to the 3.8 OROM (I assume this would resolve the issue of the array being lost with v3.8 drivers?), which I located here on these forums - but I think I may be in a bit over my head here. Is this something someone has done before? Might the modded BIOS be available if so? Is this something worth trying to do or am I just going to brick my board if I go in not knowing what I’m doing? Perhaps another version of RSTe would be better recommended for this board/BIOS revision? I would love to have TRIM working… but I’d much rather have a usable system.
Any guidance would be most appreciated.
Thank you,

@Lurkios :
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
It is easier than you may expect, if you let the UBU tool do it.
Don’t worry about bricking your board. Use the UBU tool for updating the Intel RSTe RAID ROM, rename the BIOS file and flash it by using the Asus USB Flashback feature.
After having successfully flashed the modded BIOS, don’t forget to re-do your previous BIOS settings, to uninstall the previously running Intel RSTe Software from within the Control Panel > “Software” section, to reboot and to install the Intel RSTe Software version, which matches your updateed Intel RSTe RAID ROM version development branch (here: v3.8).
Good luck!

Fernando,
Thank you for your reply. I’ll give it a go then-
EDIT: Ah, so it’s just kind of built into the tool there… neat.
Well, thanks to all those putting effort into this tool!
