Which are the best drivers for ASUS X99-A II?

Hello, this is my first post here and I hope this will be the right subforum for it - I could not find any better one as I would like to find some help in many different drivers for my mainboard.

My system specs: Windows 7 x64, i7-6850K, Asus X99-A II, one SSD (system) and one HDD (data), AHCI turned on, no RAID.

I’m trying to install the most suitable and the latest drivers for all chipsets on my mainboard and it seems to be the hardest and the most confusing work I’ve ever had. A few days ago I’ve found this forum and I really hope you will help me to sort this out. Asus has listed many drivers in a few separated groups - I’ve checked all drivers listed under Windows 7 x64 (as it is my OS) and also listed under Windows 10 x64 (as it is a newer OS and Asus could have listed here more updated drivers). As most of my mainboard’s chipsets were manufactured by Intel I’ve visited Intel’s webpage as well. Below is the whole collection of drivers I’ve noted down and need help with to find and mark the best ones.

Home page of my Asus X99-A II mainboard: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/X99-A-…pDesk_Download/

Here is the key to my list:
[x64] - Driver from Asus X99-A II webpage, listed for both Windows 7 x64 and Windows 10 x64.
[7x64] - Driver from Asus X99-A II webpage, listed only when Windows 7 x64 is selected.
[10x64] - Driver from Asus X99-A II webpage, listed only when Windows 10 x64 is selected but I think it could be used also for Windows 7 x64.
[Intel] - Driver from Intel webpage (in this case I posted direct link below).

Drivers listed under Chipset section:

1. Intel Server Chipset Driver
[x64] Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility 10.1.2.19 [Win7/8.1/10]
[10x64] (additional download) Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility 10.1.2.19 (it seems to be the same drivers as above, just different package)
[Intel] Intel Server Chipset Driver for Windows 10.1.2.86 (can’t find 10.1.2.19 to compare)
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26859/
Question 1: Should I use “latest” 10.1.2.86 version or 10.1.2.19 will be better in my case? Additional note: One of my friends said that Chipset drivers set also updated AHCI driver for him but it didn’t work for my AHCI drivers at all - he has quite different setup, with i5 4670k on Asrock B85 Killer - could that be the reason?

2. Intel Management Engine
[x64] Intel Management Engine Interface 11.0.0.1172 [Win7/8.1/10]
[10x64] (additional download) Intel Management Engine Interface 11.0.5.1189 (no readme)
[Intel] Intel Management Engine Driver 11.0.5.1189 (multiple versions)
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26136/
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26135/
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26127/
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26114/
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26115/
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26118/
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26147/
Question 2: The most important thing to me is that I’m not really sure if I need this to be installed on my PC? If yes then which version should I use as “the most suitable” one?

Drivers listed under Utilities section:

3. Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0
[x64] Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 Driver 1.0.0.1023 [Win7/8.1] / 1.0.0.1024 [Win10] (both in one file)
[Intel] Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 1.0.0.1033 [Win7/8.1/10] (can’t find 1.0.0.1023 to compare)
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26103/
Question 3: There are so many different utilities in this section listed on Asus webpage and their descriptions are so vague that I don’t know what most of them are for… But when I installed my OS for the first time I noticed two not identified devices on my system - back then I found out on some webpage that I need this Turbo Boost driver so I installed this and it worked. But should I install latest 1.0.0.1033 or previous version? Also any help with other listed utilities on Asus webpage - do I really need any of them?

Drivers listed under SATA section:

4. Intel Rapid Storage Technology
[x64] Intel AHCI/RAID Driver / Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver Software 14.8.0.1042 [Win7/8.1/10]
[Intel] Intel Rapid Storage Technology 14.8.0.1042 [Win7/8.1/10] (“previously released”)
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25165/
[Intel] Intel Rapid Storage Technology 15.8.1.1007 [Win7/8.1/10] (“latest” but noted as “For Intel Platforms not supported above, visit the RAID version 14.8.0.”)
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27147/
[Intel] (there is also:) Intel Rapid Storage Technology 14.8.14.1063 [Win7/8.1/10] (“previously released”, if not 15.8, then maybe this is better than 14.8.0.1042?)
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26759/
Question 4: I do not use RAID setup but as my drivers use AHCI do I need to update my AHCI? As I typed above in “Chipset Driver” question, one of my friends said that Chipset drivers set also updated AHCI driver for him but it didn’t work for my AHCI drivers at all (I have them listed in device manager as “version 1.0”) - he has quite different setup, with i5 4670k on Asrock B85 Killer - could that be the reason?

Drivers listed under LAN section:

5. Intel Gigabit Ethernet
[x64] Intel Gigabit Ethernet Driver 20.5.51.0 [Win7/8.1] / 20.5.150.0 [Win10] (both in one file)
[Intel] Intel Network Adapter Driver 22.6 [Win7] (can’t find version 20.5 to compare)
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/18713/
Question 5: There is Intel I218-V chipset on my mainboard. Should I use driver from Asus webpage or latest Intel one is safe to use as well?

Drivers listed under USB section:

6. Intel USB 3.0 Controller
[7x64] Intel USB3.0 Controller Driver 4.0.2.42 [Win7]
[Intel] Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver for Intel 8/9/100 Series and Intel C220/C610 Chipset Family 5.0.4.43 [Win7] (can’t find 4.0.2.42 to compare)
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22824/
Question 6: Windows 7 x64 doesn’t have native support for USB 3.0 so I need this driver. Should I use version 4.0.2.42 or 5.0.4.43 marked by Intel as “latest”? It is quite different and suspicious numbering.

7. Asmedia USB 3.1/3.0 Controller
[x64] Asmedia USB3.1/3.0 Driver 1.16.33.1 Beta [Win7/8.1/10]
[10x64] (additional download) Asmedia USB3.1/3.0 Driver 1.16.35.1 (from readme: Win7/8.1/10)
Question 7: I can see two chipsets marked as ASM1074 and ASM1142 on my mainboard. I can’t find any official downloads from Asmedia so here are only two of them from Asus webpage. Should I use beta version 1.16.33.1 or 1.16.35.1 is safe for my OS?

Drivers listed under Audio section:

8. Realtek Audio
[7x64] Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.7727 [Win7/8.1/10]
[10x64] Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.7848 (no data on OS)
Question 8: There is chipset marked as “Crystal Sound 3” on my mainboard and according to user’s guide it should be Realtek ALC1150 with some “special codec”. I can’t find any official downloads from Realtek so here are only two of them from Asus webpage. Should I use version 6.0.1.7727 or 6.0.1.7848 is safe for my OS?

EDIT by Fernando: Thread title specified

i know this is an old post , i’m having the same issue anyone could help nothing has worked please thanks!

Asus X99-A II updated bios

1-) use the latest but check if it shows in device manager (see if c600/c200 devices are using this driver or not) if not,use the previous or whichever is the latest for your chipset.check out Intel Chipset Device “Drivers” (= INF files) for more information

for example; I have installed Intel Chipset Device Software Set v9.4.2.1020 on 5series/3400 chipset and driver (inf) shows as 9.1.9.1005
Installing chipset inf v10.1.18383.8213 from Intel has no effect

I have installed v10.1.1.45 on 100series/c230 with Xeon E3 and this was from manufacturer. It shows as is.
Installing chipset inf v10.1.18383.8213 from Intel has no effect

you need to find the right and latest one for yours,so try v10.1.1x series and move up on that

internet search shows that the last known as chipset driver 10.1.17903.8106

2-) 11.7.0.1069 check out Intel (Converged Security) Management Engine:Drivers, Firmware and Tools for more information and how to update ME firmware

3-) use latest, windows usually finds the most suitable one,but you can try updating it if you come across one

4-) 14.8.18.1066 check out Intel’s RST/RST(e) AHCI/RAID Drivers for more information

5-) 26.0 check out Intel Ethernet Adapter Driver Pack for more

6-) let windows install the microsoft generic or last known USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver v5.0.4.43v2

7-) 1.16.61.1 windows should install this aswell. check out USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers (original and modded)

:sunglasses: Realtek Audio Drivers (HDA/UAD) read it
